When All The Lights Go Out

Chapter 10

Heeseung lays on the couch with a drink in his hand, thinking about what happened. He still can't believe someone had tried to hurt Emma. And it couldn't be an accident either, as the car appeared as soon as she tried to cross the road. So many questions are going through his head but he gets no answers. He didn't even had the time to check the number of the car. "Heeseung you are such an idiot" he says to himself as he lays back on the couch.

In the meantime, Emma is upstairs getting ready. She relaxes a bit after the hot shower she just had but she is still in shock. She can't process in her head what happened. Who was that guy? And why her? But she decides not to think much about it for now and quickly changes into some more comfortable clothes. After drying and brushing her hair, she goes downstairs. There, she finds Heeseung sitting on the couch, his back laying on the floor and him looking at the ceiling. "Are you ok?" Emma says as she panics and quickly rushes to his side. "Hey, what's wrong?" she says as she takes his hand and makes him look at her. "Is it about earlier?" she asks as he nods. "I still can't believe what happened, I am just so glad you are ok" and with that Heeseung embraces her into a warm hug, surprising her a bit. "Hey, it's ok now. I am ok. Everything is fine don't worry" Emma comforts him, trying to calm him down a bit. After they break the hug, they stay there for a while, just looking at each other. None of them says anything, they just staring at one another like it is the first time they meet. They haven't even realised that they are holding hands.

"You are important to me Emma. And I don't want anything happen to you. I won't allow it" Heeseung says making Emma blush hard as she stares at him. "I know that. And, I trust you Heeseung" she says as she feels herself melting at his words. "How about I make something quick for dinner? You must be exausted and you have work tomorrow. You need to rest" Emma says as she makes her way to the kitchen with Heeseung following. "So do you" he protest. "You also need to rest" and Emma looks at him with a smile. "Ok then. Here's what we are gonna do. Set the table as I cook something really fast. It will be ready in no time and then we can both go rest, ok?" Emma says as she opens the fridge. "Ok" he smiles as he quickly starts setting the table. Emma looks over at him as she smiles at herself, but she focuses on making dinner.

*TIME SKIP*
After they finish eating, they both look exhausted. "Wow, I really think we should go to bed now" Heeseung laughs as Emma agrees with a smile. "Yeah, I think so too. Sorry about the dishes I will wash them first thing in the morning" Emma says as she yawns and Heeseung chuckles. "No worries come on, let me take you to your room" he says as he gently puts her arm around his shoulder, while he supports her by her waist. They make their way to Heeseung's room as Emma struggles not to fall asleep. As they enter, Heeseung gently closes the door, as he lays Emma gently on his bed. She relaxes in no time, as Heeseung slowly makes his way to the other side of the bed. As he lays down, he turns to look at Emma's sleeping figure. She looks even more beautiful like this. Heeseung can't help but smile at her as she sleeps, feeling lucky having her in his life. "What would I do without you?"
