When I woke up the next morning, everything that happened the night before hit me like a bus.

And then, something else hit me.

I told Tabitha Thompson I liked her- and she liked me too!

I wanted to jump up and do a happy dance around my bedroom.

Until I opened my eyes and realized-

I wasn't in my bedroom.

Right. I had stayed at Tabitha's house after telling her about...

Ya know...

I sat up in Tabitha's bed and took in my surroundings- my very Tabitha-less surroundings.

Where was she?

Then something else hit me, today, I would have to tell my friends- the same ones I had called Whiney and a Bitch, the whole reason behind it...

Would they think it was stupid?

Would they hate me- and what time is it? Wait, where's my phone?

God Tabitha'a covers smell just like her- wait, Max what the hell??

I looked around the room- trying to remember where I placed my phone.

I know I put my uniform in Tabitha's dirty clothes hamper after I changed into one of the oversized shifts in Tabitha's dresser- and I know we watched a thousand Disney movies until she fell asleep on my chest.

I can officially say Tabitha Thompson has claimed my chest as her pillow.

I'm not complaining.

I felt something cold under the pillow and reached under it to see my phone.

"Finally" I sighed- and since I wanted to save myself some awkwardness- well, on my part anyways, I texted Tabitha instead of going to look for her in this massive house.

Henry says I think Tabitha's house is massive because we're lived in an apartment for years, but I agree to disagree- because we used to live in a two-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

So it's not just the apartment.

Tabby cat 🫶🏻

M: where are you

T: good morning to u sunshine

M: come to your roommm
M: I have three weeks' worth of hugs to give you.

T: aw- cute
T: come out and find me

M: all I'm wearing is a T-shirt

T: that's the point :)

M: Tabitha Thompson I'm not leaving this room
M: I'm serious...

I waited a few minutes to see if she was kidding.

She wasn't. She wanted me to get up in this oversized T-shirt and my underwear- and find her in a house where I've barely been in four rooms.

"Shit" I quietly groaned, slinging the cover off my body and climbing out of Tabitha's queen-sized bed.

Please don't let her parents see me. Please don't let her parents see me- I internally pleaded as I peeped in every room upstairs- except Malaya's- since it was closed.

I swear to god- Tabitha please come out, I begged in my mind- as if Tabitha could actually hear me.

I walked down the wooden flight of stairs and prepped into the living room- and kitchen there. No Tabitha- what the hell- "Got ya!" I let out a shriek when Tabitha's voice surprised me and she lifted me over her shoulder.
