Chapter 8 - Unexpected Event

One week later, current year 2436

Ren, Aerielle, and Zane are waiting for Axia outside his house.

     "Axia! Let's go! We're gonna be late! We still need to travel 2 days to reach the destination!" Ren said.

Axia shouted "I know! Just wait for a minute!"

Axia went to his mother and said goodbye.

     "Mom! We're going now!"

     "Take care! And also tell them to do well, especially you also!"

     "Okay!"

Axia went outside and all of them headed to their destination.

Aerielle asked them, "Hey! Hey! Hey! Which squad would you guys choose?"

     "Wait… What are the following squads again?" Axia asked.

     Zane answered his question. "The following squads are the Front Warriors, Air Troops, Strategy, Royal Guards, and Assassins." 

     "The most interesting among them is the Strategy. I heard that they almost consist of nobles and they rarely participate in disputes. They just make plans for the development of the kingdom as well as monitor its economy and performance of each sector. Aside from that, they can still help when capturing criminals and strategies regarding anything, but they are not too active on that." He added.

     "So they are more in paperworks?" Ren asked.

     "Exactly!"

Because of this, Aerielle is confused about something. "But why do we need to take the entrance examination if we will  just enter the Strategy squad?" 

     "I don't know."

     "Let's go back to my question! What squads would you guys choose?"

Ren answered her with full confidence. "I will join the Front Warriors! I will die for my beloved kingdom!" 

     "You just want to beat up some people to get revenge on those bullies." Zane teased him.

While all of them are talking, a group of bandits come at them at high speed and start to hold them at their neck and all of them struggle.

     "I-I can't… Breathe!" Axia said to himself.

He looks at everyone choking.

     "No..! This is not happening! I didn't even sense these bandits at all!.. Oh no! I'm losing consciousness!"

Meanwhile, all of his friends cannot use their powers. "I-I can't use my p-powers… And I can't breathe anymore!" 

     "My sword! I can't reach it!" Axia said.

      "Let's just kill these kids and get their items." The one member of the bandits said.

The member of the  bandit who chokes Axia becomes interested in his sword.

     "This sword… Let's get this. This is probably worth a thousand."

All of them try to let go but the strength of the bandits is incredible.

     "Hey brats! There is no need to struggle. Just accept your fate and die."

     "I can't die yet!.. I made a promise to them… Especially to my mom!" Axia thought.

When the bandit tries to get Axia's sword, Axia slaps the bandit's hand and the sword falls to the ground, the sword stabs the ground.

Suddenly, the bandits float and all of them are freed, gasping for air.

     "They float… It looks like… Aerielle activated her power… At the last minute…" Axia thought.

     "This can't be happening! We used anti-magic to lock their powers! How did this happen?!."

The bandit looks at the ground.

    "That sword… It probably is!"

As Axia and his friends are on the ground and the bandits are on the air, a mist suddenly appeared and made them all fall asleep.
