Chapter 40 - Rainbow Under The Sunrise

The rain keeps on pouring as the fight is yet to come to its end. Ito and Ren's body is being soaked in the rain. 

    "Where are the two?!" Ellysa asks Axia.

    "They are still inside the forest! They are not dead! I checked their heart beat first before coming in here!" 

Axia stances himself as he is preparing himself to attack.

    "Ellysa, can you help me?"

    "Of course. We have to stop this now!"

    "Can you duplicate your umbrella and scatter it in the air?"

    "Yeah. I can do it now."

    "Let's go!"

Sword Wielding Technique - 1st Phase: Rapid Rush

Axia charges towards Crale as Ellysa duplicates her umbrella in the air as it covers the entire sky above.

Axia swings his sword to attack Crale. As usual, his shield blocks it and Axia goes up above the sky as he jumps on the umbrellas. He jumps again one last time and gathers strength.

Sword Wielding Technique - 11th Phase: Air Blow

    "This is the only attack that I can do!"

He swings his sword in the air and it sends air attacks towards Crale.

    "This attack again!" Crale angrily shouts.

He tries to avoid all of it but Ellysa sends an umbrella to injure his left leg.

    "Argh! I thought that she couldn't control those umbrellas floating in the sky!"

A blow from Axia cuts off his left arm.

    "I…I definitely underestimated them… No. I have the upper hand. I can send all of these shards attached to my skin to attack them!"

He shoots all of the shards from his skin and Axia and Ellysa blocks all of it. A man is shouting from a distance, which is Ito, catches Crale using his thread

    

    "Do it now, Ren!"

    "I know!"

Ren slices up Crale's legs and hands and he screams in pain.

    "These two! I thought they were dead already! How are they still alive?! Am I going to fail?! Am I going to lose?! Eris?!"

It was many years ago when Eris was still a little girl when she found a lifeless body of a child under the cold air and bright moonlight inside an unknown forest.

    "Hm? Is he dead? What happened to him?" 

She touched the hand of the child and it was cold.

    "He's dead…"

Eris uses a unique spell of hers to revive the dead body of the child. A vines from below started to cover his body and later it was fully covered. Later on, different types of flowers started to grow. And then, the child wakes up in a pile of flowers.

    "You're awake."

    "Huh?.. Did I sleep here?"

Eris cannot let herself tell that he was dead and she just revived him.

    "Uhm. Yes."

The child scratches his head.

    "Oh… I see. Why are there so many flowers here?"

    "I grew them to let you sleep more comfortably. I'm going now."

    "Wait! May I ask what your name is?"

    "My name is Eris."

    "Uhm… My name is Crale. Nice to meet you."

    "Nice to meet you too. By the way, why don't you go home?"

Crale looked down and started fidgeting.

    "Crap! I messed up! There must be a heavy reason why he died here!" She said to herself.

    "Y-you don't need to answer it if you are not comfortable with it."

    "Oh…"

    "Do you have some place to go?"

    "No actually. I was kicked out in the house and I think this is where I ended up sleeping."

    "His memory was manipulated by me…" She said to herself.

    "Do you want to come with me?"

    "To where?"

    "To the place where I live."

Eris extended her hand and Crale extended his hand also.

Eris lives in a place where children are being raise and taken care of to become one of their fighters when they escape from being sealed.

    "Crale! You need to become stronger! To avenge our people!" Eris shouts at him to make him motivated.

Day after day after day, the same routine started to drain Crale.

    "Crale! Do more! To make yourself useful!"

Crale did his everything to satisfy the demand of his people until he became one of the Ten Wings of Vengeance.

    "Crale! We did it!" Eris happily said.

Crale is not sure about what he feels. To him, he just needs to satisfy the demands of his people and disregard his feelings. 

When he was a child, he wanted to become one of the Ten Wings of Vengeance to fulfill the wish of his parents. But now, he wants to destroy the wicked world.

Two months after the recognition of the new Ten Wings of Vengeance, Eris and Crale made a vow.

    "Crale! When we escape from this, will you promise that we will both finish the job?!"

    "Yeah!" He said in a nonchalant manner but hides his true feelings.

Earlier, vines covered Ito and Ren's body and later on a flower grew. After a few minutes, they wake up and quickly runs to the scene.

Crale looks at Ren and Ito one last time and sees vines and flowers on their bodies.

    "Eris… you wanted me to stop killing them. In our hearts, we really don't want to kill but we are being pressured. I'm sorry if I said many bad things to you that I vented out my frustrations from my parents to you. I'm sorry if I killed you because I just wanted to become free and not be devoured by doing bad things. I'm sorry I couldn't keep our promise. We both failed but now… we are free…"

Axia hurriedly slices Crale's head as tears flows from Crale's eyes.

The rain stops and the sun starts to shine. The sunlight reaches the body of Crale and Eris as their body starts to melt.

    "It's finished…" Axia says.

Ellysa runs and hugs Axia, and then Ito and Ren join the two. All of them look at the sky to see the rainbow meets with the sun.
