Chapter 24 - A Touch From A Beloved One

Screams of terror, cries, monster noises, and destruction in the city are visibly heard throughout the city and in some parts within the Royal Palace. Meanwhile, numerous survivors of the city have exited in the southern gate to reach the Royal Palace.

Axia and Kagami tremble in fear and shock, watching the monsters eat the two thieves as the two look in their eyes while being eaten.

Axia couldn't move a single centimeters from where he is. In his shock, four monsters are ready to attack from all sides.

    "If we don't move now… We'll get killed too!" Axia said to himself as he grabbed his sword and killed the four monsters as well as the monsters who killed the thieves.

Axia goes in front of Kagami and holds his two shoulders and shakes him while he is stuttering as he speaks.

    "K-Kagami! Let's move now! W-we have n-no time to f-fear! If we let them t-take over us, everyone in here will be killed!"

Kagami comes back to his senses and grabs Axia's shoulder.

    "Let's save… everyone…" he said as a combination of fear and terror can be felt.

Axia nods and moves in front outside of the northern gate where the monsters are coming from inside the forest of Themy.

Sword Wielding Technique- 1st Phase: Rapid Rush

Axia increases his speed and agility in slicing multiple monsters outside.

    "There's more of them than I expected… It's endless! I have to take them all in s second!"

Sword Wielding Technique- 3rd Phase: Wild Claws

Axia goes up in the air and swings his sword vigorously. The monsters are sliced using the air coming from the sword towards them.

    "This technique takes a lot of my energy… But this gives time for Kagami and senior to take down those who are inside…"

Kagami is inside the city helping the civilians escape as he fights the monsters.

Glass Magic- 1st Phase: Glass Shards

Kagami flies glass shards to the monsters directly on the nape of the neck, killing them.

¼ of the city is totally destroyed from the hands of the monsters. The guards of the city are being wiped out too.

The city government of the Jurie City has requested help from the kingdom government.

Sento sends an order from all the squads to go into the city to help the civilians. The news about the invasion in the kingdom spread in all parts of the kingdom and gave chills to Axia's, Kagami's, and Kanku's family and friends.

Kanku is on the ground, helpless. A man sees him and helps her.

    "Miss?! Are you okay?! We need to move! We are being attacked!"

Kanku opens her eyes to see herself in the hands of a kindhearted man. Little did the man know, a monster is on his back and ready to kill him. The monster swings its sharp claws and Kanku holds the monster's hand with her five fingers.

Flashback, 12 years ago.

It is fall and Kanku and her family are fetching some water in a well while singing a family song.
