"Ginevra, wake up," Cami shook her friend awake. Ginevra groaned rolling over onto her stomach. She didn't know exactly what time she fell asleep but the sun was starting to rise when she eventually did. "Come on. It's time to get our fun weekend started. We went to bed early last night. You shouldn't be tired."
She opened her eyes to roll over and look at her friend, "You know you're quite annoying in the morning."
"Get up. Chiara and I made breakfast," Cami smiled.
"Okay, okay. Give me a second and I'll be out there," Ginevra said.
"All right but hurry," Cami said getting up off the bed, "Don't make me come back in here."
Ginevra let out a laugh as Cami walked out of the bedroom shutting the door behind her. She rolled to her back staring up at the ceiling. The events of the night before came rushing back to her. There is no way Niccolo looked at her in any special way. Deciding it was all in her head she got up out of bed and pulled her shorts on.
She walked out of Cami's room and headed straight for the bathroom. She was so tired and needed to splash some cold water on her face. Looking in the bathroom mirror she could see dark circles under her eyes. Ginevra turned on the cold water cupping some in her hands and splashed it on her face.
"Ginevra!" Cami called knocking on the bathroom door, "Hurry up!"
"Give me a second. I'm coming," Ginevra called as she dried her face off. She pulled out the extra toothbrush she kept at Cami's house and brushed her teeth.
Placing her toothbrush back she walked toward the door. Ginevra rubbed at her eyes pulling the door open. Her body ran into someone making her stop, "I said to give me a minute Cam..."
She opened her eyes to see Niccolo standing in front of her, "Sorry. I thought you were Cami."
"It's all right," Niccolo said looking at the girl, "Are you feeling all right? You look tired."
"Yeah. Just couldn't really sleep last night," Ginevra replied.
"Listen, Ginevra, about last night..."
"The food is getting cold," Cami said walking toward her friend. Cami's brows furrowed as she looked at how close her brother and Ginevra were standing. Niccolo sighed and took a step away from the girl. "What are you guys doing?"
"I accidentally ran into her as she was coming out of the bathroom," Niccolo replied as he turned back to Ginevra, "I'm sorry."
Niccolo pushed past her and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door. Ginevra turned back to her friend who still had a confused look on her face, "What's his problem?"
"I have no idea," Ginevra said.
Camilla rolled her eyes at her brother and turned back toward the kitchen, "Come on before Chiara and I eat it all."
Ginevra laughed and followed her friend into the kitchen. Chiara was sitting at the Rossi's dining room table eating the breakfast that was in front of her, "What took you guys so long."
"Sorry. Nicco was being all weird," Cami said sitting down in front of her plate.
"When does your brother not act weird?" Chiara laughed making Cami laugh too.
"I don't really think he was acting that weird," Ginevra said. Both of her friends turned to her giving her a questioning look. "What?" Ginevra asked with a mouth full of the croissant she just took a bite out of.
"Since when do you defend Nicco?" Cami asked.
"I'm not defending him," Ginevra said.
"Mhm," Cami hummed taking a bite of her breakfast.
"Why would I be defending Nicco?" Ginevra asked, "I don't even like your brother. He's so annoying."
"Ouch," Niccolo said walking into the kitchen, "Here I was thinking you actually cared for me."
"Tolerating you is more like it," Ginevra said looking at Niccolo as he sat down at the table across from her.
"So what do we have planned for the day?" Chiara asked catching Cami's attention. The girls continued to chat but Ginevra had no idea what they were saying. Her eyes were locked with Niccolo's and it was like she couldn't look away. She never noticed how intimidating his stare could be.
"Ginevra," Cami said breaking her gaze with the boy. She hummed a response turning to her friend. "I said does that sound all right?"
"Oh yeah. That sounds perfect," Ginevra smile not knowing what her friends had just been discussing.
"Perfect. We're gonna have an amazing day! Finish eating so we can get ready to go," Cami said getting up from her spot at the table.
Ginevra met Chiara's eyes as the girl furrowed her brow. Cami may not notice that something weird is going on between Ginevra and Nicco, but she did. Ginevra looked back down at her plate taking another bite of her food trying to get out from under her friend's intense stare.
"I'm gonna go get dressed," Chiara said standing up from the table with her plate.
"I won't be far behind," Ginevra said smiling at her friend. Chiara left the dining area, once again leaving her alone with Nicco. She started down at her plate not wanting to look the boy in the eyes.
Niccolo didn't try talking to her while she finished her breakfast. She finished off her juice and picked up her plate walking to the kitchen. After placing the plate she turned to head back to Cami's room to get ready for whatever she agreed to today.
"Have a good day," Nicco said making her stop right before she entered the hallway. Ginevra turned back to look at Nicco who was smirking at her. That stupid smirk on his face told her exactly what he was doing. Nicco didn't actually care about her, he was just trying to mess with her.
"Fuck off Niccolo," Ginevra said rolling her eyes at the boy before turning to head toward Cami's room. She wasn't going to let what happened between her and Nicco last night take over her mind anymore. After all, it wasn't always that they got to have a full fun weekend together.
