Ginevra didn't even bother knocking on the door at the Rossi house. She opened it walking in knowing Nicco would be the only one home. She looked around the living room not seeing him. He must be in his room. Ginevra jogged down the hall shoving his bedroom door open.

There on the edge of the bed sat Nicco, he was leaned over crying into his hands. At the sound of the door opening, he looked up. "Ginevra?" he whispered.

"Nicco," Ginevra said walking over to the boy. She sat down beside him taking his hands in hers.

"What are you doing here?" Nicco asked.

"I heard...well saw," Ginevra said, "I went to find you but Cami said you'd come home."

"I couldn't stand to be at school right now," Nicco said, "The pitty look everyone was giving me...it made me feel sick."

"I'm so sorry Nicco," Ginevra said pulling the boy into a hug, "I'm sure that's not what you want to hear right now but I am." She rubbed his back as he cried into her shoulder. Memories from the night she'd held him while he cried when he found out Virginia was pregnant flashed through her mind. She'd never seen him so upset until that night...now, now he was falling apart even more.

"You didn't have to come," Nicco said between sobs.

"I wanted to come," Ginevra said, "I needed to make sure you were okay."

"I just can't believe she lied to me," Nicco said, "She said she was scared to lose me but now I don't even want to see her face. At least if we broke up on normal terms maybe we could have still been friends."

"I'm sure she wanted to tell you after," Ginevra said, "She was probably just scared how you'd react." Ginevra wasn't sure why she felt the need to defend Virginia. She knew Nicco was mad at the girl, rightfully so. But she also knew what she said about Virginia was probably true. She had lied because she felt like she was losing her boyfriend, when she got so far into the lie it was hard to just take it back. No doubt she would have told Nicco eventually. Ginevra just hated that this was the way Nicco found out. Not in private, in front of the whole school.

"I know she was scared," Nicco said pulling back from the hug to wipe his eyes, "I yelled at her...I shouldn't have done that."

"I'm sure she understands how angry you are," Ginevra said.

"I really don't know if I can ever face her again," Nicco said.

"It'll just take time," Ginevra said taking Nicco's hand in hers, "A lot of things have happened today. You should try and get some rest."

"Will you stay with me?" Nicco asked looking up at the girl. His cheeks were stained with tears, his eyes bloodshot.

"Of course, I will," Ginevra said. Nicco lay down on the bed, Ginevra lay next to him. The boy nuzzled his face into her neck as he pulled her body closer. She played with his hair as she rubbed comforting circles on his back.

If it were up to both of them they'd never move from this position. They both felt so comfortable like nothing could ever bother them. Each of them had been through so much the past year, separate and together. Yet here they were laying in each other's arms.

"Thank you for coming," Nicco mumbled, almost ticking the side of her neck.

"I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now," Ginevra said.

"Promise me you'll never leave," Nicco said pulling his head back to look at the girl.

"I will if you do the same," Ginevra said.

"Promise," they both spoke at the same time. Ginevra couldn't help the small smile that came to her lips. She knew they had a long way to go if they were ever going to make a relationship work. Honestly, that was the farthest thing from her mind right now. She just wanted to make sure that Nicco was okay. Both of them promising to never leave one another was a big step in the right direction though.

Ginevra leaned down placing a delicate kiss on his forehead. Nicco leaned into the kiss as he felt his body relax. His life was a mess right now but he knew he had her by his side. The girl he'd loved and lost once before. So many things had been keeping them apart. Nicco didn't know many things for certain, but he did know that he was never going to let her go again.

Sorry this one's a bit shorter than usual. I wanted it to have its own moment 💛💛
