Tonight was the night of Cami and Chiara's going away party. Though it was most definitely illegal that the party was being thrown at the school, no one cared. She had debated all day whether or not she was going to go to the party or not. It being a party for Chiara convinced her to go.

She knew that next year would be different with her friends gone. She and Cami still weren't on talking terms. Chiara was really all she had, but even they had grown distant from one another. One day the three were best friends, and now they barely associated with one another.

There were several people scattered around the rooftop when Ginevra arrived. She almost felt out of place being here, like no one wanted her. A lot of the relationships she'd had with people disappeared when Virginia started hating her. All of the girls would rather be friends with Virginia than her. Most of the boys just assumed she was easy now so all they wanted to do was sleep with her.

Ginevra spotted Chiara, probably the only person here that liked her. "Hey," Ginevra said walking up to her friend.

"Hey," Chiara replied.

"What's wrong, you don't look too happy," Ginevra said, "This is supposed to be your going away party too."

Chiara laughed as she looked down at her hands, "I'm not going to America."

"What?" Ginevra asked, "We've been talking about this for months. You and Cami are going to have a great time."

"I just don't think right now is the right time," Chiara said, "There is so much going on here."

"What's going on?" Ginevra asked.

"My parents are getting a divorce," Chiara said, "My dad's already seeing other people."

"Chiara," Ginevra said placing her hand on her friend's shoulder, "I'm so sorry. That must be hard on you."

"It's for the best," Chiara said, "All they do is argue anymore. They thought going to therapy would help but I feel like it's just made things worse."

"I'm here if you need me," Ginevra said.

"Thank you," Chiara smiled at her friend.

"Have you told Cami?" Ginevra asked.

"I haven't. I was planning on telling her tonight," Chiara said, "I should probably do it sooner rather than later."

"I'll be around if you need me," Ginevra said. Chiara nodded to her friend before walking away to go find Cami. Ginevra knew that Cami wasn't going to be happy. All three of them had planned to go to America together, three best friends on this trip that would bond them even more than they were. But just like their bond, the trip was crumbling right in front of them.

Ginevra walked over to the table that had all of the drinks on it. She looked at her options and decided to just drink soda. The last party she attended she got pushed into a pool, she wanted to have a clear head for this one. "Hey," someone said breaking her from her thoughts.

She turned her head to see Damiano standing beside her. She smiled over at the boy, she was actually happy to run into him. "Hey," Ginevra replied.

"How are you?" Damiano asked, "You know after..."

"Uh I'm all right," Ginevra replied, "I've actually been meaning to thank you for that day. Sorry, I didn't in the moment."

"No, it's cool. I know how your mind can get in situations like that," Damiano said.

"Yeah," Ginevra sighed.

"Do they happen often?" Damiano asked.

"Umm, I use to get them all the time after my mom died. They slowly started to grow farther and farther apart until one day they stopped," Ginevra said, "They've been starting to happen again recently though."
