"You ready to go?" Nicco asked as he looked over at Ginevra in the passenger seat.

"Do you think she'll show up?" Ginevra asked.

"She has to," Nicco said, "It's 100 Days. Everyone in the school shows." Ginevra nodded her head as Nicco squeezed her hand in reassurance. She hadn't talked a whole lot to Chiara the past few days. She assumed she'd been busy meeting with lawyers.

Today was supposed to be a happy day. A day when the students of Collodi could just relax, hang out, and be free. As soon as her feet hit the sand and the sun shinned down on her skin Ginevra could already feel the happiness flood her veins. "Todays gonna be a good day," Ginevra said.

"Yes it will be," Nicco said lacing his hand in hers. They walked over to a spot laying out a blanket they'd brought.

"It's lovely to see you two here," Vitto said walking over with a soccer ball in his hand.

"You as well," Ginevra said pulling her friend into a hug.

"Glad to finally see a smile on your face," Vitto whispered into her ear.

"Shut up," she said rolling her eyes.

"Seriously. I was beginning to think you had a permanent frown," Vitto joked.

"Hello, Carlo," Ginevra smiled as the boy walked over.

"You guys wanna play?" Vitto asked holding up the soccer ball that was in his hands.

"Yeah," Carlo said.

"Sure," Nicco agreed. All three boys turned to look at the girl that was standing next to them.

"You guys know I suck," Ginevra said.

"Oh come on," Vitto said.

"Pretty please," Nicco begged sticking out his bottom lip.

"Fine," Ginevra agreed, "I'll play as long as you promise never to give me that look again."

"Deal," Nicco smiled. The boys started kicking around the ball. Ginevra tried her best to kick it anytime it came near her but it would inevitably end up on the ground. In the distance, she spotted the one person she hoped to see here today.

"I'll be right back," Ginevra said to Nicco. The boy followed where her gaze was and nodded letting her know he heard her. Ginevra went running down the beach toward her friend.

"Chiara!" she yelled pulling her into a hug, "I'm so glad that you're here!"

"You wanna play with us?" Chairs asked holding up a volleyball.

"I'm sure I'm gonna suck but sure," Ginevra said.

"Don't worry. We suck too," Ludo laughed. Slowly more and more people joined in on their game. By the end, she and Chiara had gained Nicco and Fabio and Ludo had gained Brando and Cami.

"I'll be back," Chaiar said. Ginevra looked over to see Damiano standing beside the net. She sent the boy a smile as Chiara walked over to him.

The sun was setting and most everyone had cleared off the beach. Givenvra laid against Nicco's chest watching the sun set over the water. "It's beautiful," Ginevra whispered.

"Yeah you are," Nicco said. Ginevra shifted so that she could look up at him. His smile grew as they made eye contact.

"Would you like a few crackers with that cheese?" Ginevra asked making Nicco throw his head back in laughter.

"Very funny," Nicco said as Ginevra sat up turning to face him.

"I mean I thought so," Ginevra said. Nicco couldn't help but stare at the girl. She truly was the most beautiful person he'd ever seen. He was so lucky to be here with her now.

"What?" Ginevra said, "Do I have something on my face?"

"No. I just can't help but stare at you," Nicco said making her blush.

"Stop," Ginevra laughed as she lightly pushed his shoulder.

"I mean it, you're beautiful," Nicco said sitting up.

"Thank you," Ginevra said. Nicco grabbed ahold of both of the girl's hands. His thumb ran across her knuckles delicately.

"Ginevra. I know we've both been through a lot. We both put each other through a lot over the past year," Nicco said, "But somehow we always end up coming back together again. You were there for me during the lowest points in my life with nothing but encouraging words and love." Ginevra couldn't help but smile at his words, because he'd done the exact same things for her.

"It was like every time one of us was ready for a relationship the other person was being pulled away. I've known since that night in the kitchen that our relationship was changing," Nicco said, "I started seeing you differently. I started noticing how kind you were and how truly beautiful you were. And not just the beauty on the outside, I mean how truly beautiful you are on the inside. You would do anything for anyone, even if they wronged you in the past. Your kindness never ceases to amaze me every day." Nicco took a breath, taking a second to admire her face. Her beautiful big green eyes, and her bright smile that could make anyone feeling down smile too.

"I know we're still young but I've never loved anyone in my life like I've loved you. I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else by my side," Nicco said, "Ginevra Ricci, will you be my girlfriend?" Somehow Ginevra's smile grew wider as those last words left his mouth.

"I couldn't imagine spending the rest of my life with anyone else," Ginevra said, "Of course I'll be your girlfriend." Nicco's hands came up grabbing the sides of her face as he pulled her into a passionate kiss. They had both waited so long for this moment and it was absolutely perfect.

"Was it worth the wait?" Nicco asked pulling back from the kiss but keeping his hands on her cheeks.

"Oh it was so worth the wait," Ginevra said before pressing her lips to his again.
