Camie frowned:
"Why would I mind?"
Théa looked happy by that answer:
"I preferred to ask."
She didn't hesitate a second and pulled her shirt off. Camie suddenly remembered the first time they changed in front of each other and the stupid things she had said. This time she pressed her lips together as tight as possible so no sound could leave her mouth. But quickly she forgot about her own lips. Théa was a hero, therefore her body being impressive was expected but it didn't explain Camie's reaction. She felt her heart speed up and Théa staring her straight in the eyes wasn't helping. The latter didn't look away for some reason and kept changing while looking straight into Camie's eyes.
That felt weird for some reason and Camie looked all around the room, looking for something to do with herself. Unfortunately, she couldn't come up with anything at all. Seeing her getting slowly redder and redder made Théa smirk:
"Camie? Is there something wrong?
-Nope. All good here. Never been better.
-Are you sure? I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable.
-You didn't. I'm fine.
-Really? You're not uncomfortable?
-Not at all. Why would I be?
-Then why are you so red?"
Camie immediately cupped her face, shocked at how warm her cheeks were. Had her body ever been that warm? Was this normal? Why was she like that? She knew that Théa was charismatic but she had to get it together. Usually she was perfectly capable of composing herself. It wasn't the right moment. She was just changing.
"I... I..."
Théa took a step towards Camie but suddenly stopped and put the shirt on. Seeing Camie gain color made her forget about the accident for a second and she felt guilty. She couldn't tease Camie. She was a patient.
"I apologize. I got too excited seeing that you were back to your usual self. You are still a patient so I will let you off the hook for now."
Camie was so lost that she just blinked multiple times:
"Thank... You?"
Théa couldn't help laughing. She wanted to tell Camie that she was cute, that she shouldn't worry she would see her without a shirt again but she bit her lower lip with all her might. She didn't want her to explode. Not yet. Camie did tell her that she could test her limits but she had to put it on hold for now. At least for a few more days. Théa finished changing in the blink of an eye and bent down to pick her bag up before putting it down on Camie's desk:
"Are you hungry?"
Camie couldn't look away from the bag, her pupils dilating slowly:
"Why? What do you have in there? Is it edible?"
Théa opened her bag so Camie could take a look inside and what she saw made her mouth water.
"Are those cookies?"
Théa had a very hard time hiding her smile. Seeing Camie energetic as always did calm her down a bit. Looking at her, Théa had the same look Camie had looking down at the cookies. She needed a second to realize that Camie had asked a question:
"I found a new cookie shop near my house. Which one would you like to try? There's cookies with passion fruit filling, black chocolate and pear cookies or almond and caramel ones."
Camie had a hard time choosing. She wanted to taste all of them at once and Théa slowly nodded:
"I bought two of each so maybe we could try all of them and rate them later on."
Camie quickly nodded and before she could realize she found herself with a plate filled with cookies. She took a bite of the one closest to her and started dancing a bit, happily.
"Yum! Thish one ish sho good.
-Which one are you tasting?
-The passion fruit one. It's delicious. Do you want to taste it?"
Camie realized what she did too late. Théa had bought two of every cookie so she could really well taste her own. She wanted to apologize, not knowing what came over her. But before she could retract her hand, Théa had already bitten into her cookie. Camie looked at Théa's mouth, frozen. Did she just share her food with someone? And she didn't mind? Wait a moment... Not only that but did she just accept something from Théa without hesitation?
Feeling that she was starting to overthink it, Théa smiled:
"You're right. I think this is the best one. Would you like to taste the almond one next?"
It didn't make sense. Camie had her own cookie. So why did she nod? Théa grabbed the cookie on her plate and extended it towards Camie's mouth, waiting for her to take a bite. She looked down at Camie's mouth and the latter suddenly felt very thirsty. These cookies were way too sweet that was why. That was what she wanted to be the reason why. She didn't want to think about other reasons. It wasn't the right moment. Stop thinking about them. And stop looking down at her lips!
Camie quickly shook her head. Why was she panicking at every little thing Théa did? She had been doing so well lately. Usually she was panicking when she was feeling awkward with someone but the closer she got to Théa the more comfortable she was getting. She felt completely at peace next to the hero and there she was getting weird all over again. It was worse than at the beginning of their relationship. Théa was way too impressive to be around. She needed a break. She couldn't take her presence.
She looked at the door. Should she pretend that she needed to go to the toilet? But for some reason Camie's feet didn't move. She didn't want to get up. She wanted to run away but she wanted to stay close to Théa. She had no idea what was going on. She had never felt that way before.
Camie bit into her cookie so fast that Théa flinched. She then started munching angrily trying her best to regain control over the situation. Théa blinked a few times before laughing:
"You are so cute when you eat."
Théa immediately smacked her hand to her mouth, surprised by her own words. She looked ready to apologize but Camie didn't react. She didn't answer and continued eating which calmed Théa down a bit. She just smiled and didn't insist more. She started eating her own cookies, while smiling at Camie. Despite her panic, Camie felt at ease. She liked having Théa near her and she was already thinking of what to get her to repay her for the food.
Despite having eaten three huge cookies and having taken some bites from Théa's cookies as well, Camie was very hungry when her father called them to eat. She had completely forgotten about him at that point and jumped when she heard his voice. She looked around her room, as if trying to figure out for how long they had been there and Théa gave her time to get back on the ground before taking her empty plate.
Camie followed Théa to the kitchen and watched her place their plates in the sink. She stared at Théa way too long and the latter pulled Camie's chair, waiting for her to sit down. Camie quickly shook, her head:
"I wasn't..."
She was simply staring because she couldn't get used to how natural Théa looked in her house. As if she had belonged there. Théa didn't seem to mind because she looked at Camie, waiting for her to sit down. Camie looked at her father, shy. Seeing that the latter was focused on something else, she sighed and sat down quickly.
"Thanks."
She wasn't ashamed of her father or of any of her friends but she didn't think her two worlds meeting would go so well. They had already interacted before but they hadn't had a real meal together. The conversation flowed naturally and Théa quickly felt at her place. It was as if she had lived with them for years. Once finished, Camie tried to get up to help but her father didn't let her. Théa got up as well to help Mister Dred but the latter sent both girls back to Camie's room:
"Don't mind the old man and go have some fun."
Camie rolled her eyes:
"You aren't old."
No amount of insisting worked and after washing up, the girls found themselves in Camie's room again.
