Forever and Always Mine

Chapter 1

Heather's POV

 My sixteenth birthday was tomorrow and I would be my first time shifting. I will also be able to find my mate. I haven’t been in a relationship since I only plan on being with my mate.

My best friend-Brooke- would be shifting with me since we have the same birthday. I was excited but scared to shift.

When it’s a werewolves’ first shift is very painful. I will be a strong wolf since my dad is the Alpha of my pack. My best friend’s dad is the Beta which is the second highest. I wasn’t the first child so I won’t be the strongest. The first child that an Alpha has is always the strongest, that’s why all Alphas want a son as their first child.

I woke up the next morning; Brooke had slept over since we would be in the forest all day waiting to shift. It was already ten o’clock and since Brooke wasn’t in my room I knew she was downstairs. I went downstairs to have breakfast and Brooke was sitting on one of the stools at the island having a bowl of Lucky Charms. I grabbed a bowl and poured myself some and sat next to her. She seemed to be staring off in her own little world so I nudged her with my shoulder.

“Hey” I said to her as she looked at me.

“Hey” she said giving me a weak smile.

“What's the matter?”

“Nothing I’m fine just a bit worried about when it comes time for us to shift.”

“Don’t worry we’ll be fine, remember were in this together” she gave me a real smile this time and nodded her head. We changed and headed for the woods where we would soon be shifting. We both sat down on the forest floor and had our backs up against a tree and waited. I didn’t have to tell my dad that we left because he never has time to acknowledge me since he’s always so busy being the Alpha. My mom is the same way since she’s the Luna of our pack.

All of a sudden a tingling sensation started from my feet all the way up my body. I knew what was coming. My bones started to ace and I started to shake. My head pounded and I wouldn’t move. The pain was becoming unbearable. I looked up at my friend as well as I could since it hurt to even twitch my finger. I saw the same thing was happening to her. I just wanted it to all be over. My vision became blurry and then everything became black. I passed out from all the pain.

I woke up and picked my head up; I looked down to see grey paws. I successfully shifted. I saw a grey wolf next to me with black paws and black ears. I immediately knew it was Brooke. We could also talk to each other using mind link. ‘Let’s run’ I told her through the mind link. She looked at me and nodded her head. We ran for a while then went back home. She went back to her house and I went to bed.

Today was my last day of freedom before I had to go back to school. I hate how summer vacation always seemed to go by so fast. I was going to a new school which is never fun. Thankfully Brooke will be with me but we only have three classes together. I did all the things I had to do before I went to bed.

I drove to school since I had my permit and walked in. all eyes were on me since I was the new girl. I kept my head down while I searched for my first class, History. I finally found it and took my seat. A girl sat next to me and I gave her a weak smile, I could tell that she was a werewolf by her scent. I’m sure she could to since I was the daughter of an Alpha. Alphas have a stronger scent then regular wolves.

“Hi my name’s Lily”

 “My name’s Heather”

 “Nice to meet you, what's your next class?” 

 “English”

 “Me too!”

“Cool”

I hate History, it’s so boring. I and Lily talked the whole time but making sure we don’t get caught since the teacher is very strict from what Lily told me. We went on with our day and it turns out Lily and I have a lot of classes together. It was finally lunch and I sat with all the people I made friends with so far which wasn’t too many. I wouldn’t have met them if it wasn’t for Lily. She’s a popular girl. I made about five friends do far so I guess its s good start. There was a group of boys that sat a few tables away and I could see him looking over here so I quickly turned my head.

“He’s dangerous Heather; I wouldn’t get involved with him if I were you.”

“Ok” was all I said back as I started eating my lunch again.

By the end of the day I was exhausted I got home and plopped on my bed. I feel asleep in the clothes I wore to school and didn’t even bother to eat. My alarm woke me up the next morning. I was ready for school in a few minutes and was on my way. I went to my locker and got my books for the day. The hallway suddenly was quiet as people were moving gout of the way creating a clear path. I wasn’t sure what was going on so I just stayed still. It was the same group of boys that were sitting at the table. The boy that winked at me was in the front leading them. As he was walking down the hall his eyes locked in mine till he passed me. Once he was out of sight I gasped for air since I was holding my breath. I face my locker again closing it when I saw Lily’s face.  She made me jump since I wasn’t expecting her. “Don’t get involved, he’s no good” she told me with a concerned look in her eye. “I’m not trying to he looked at me first and stared at me” I said with a frown. Thankfully today went by fast.

I went to my locker and put my books when I arrived at school. I When I closed it I saw the boy standing next to me. My locker has blocked my view so I had no clue he was there. I jumped and gasped at the same time which made him chuckle. He was now standing in front of me and I pushed myself against the locker trying to keep our distance, but he just kept coming closer. He cut his hands on the locker one on either side of my head. He looked me in the eye. 

“I’m Adrian”

“I-I’m H-Heather”

He chuckled at me while I stuttered. 

“Are you scared of me?”

“N-No”

“Well you should be”

He had a smirk on his face while I was still standing there frozen, not knowing what to do. He had blue-gray eyes, he was tall and fit. He had dark hair and a perfect jawline. He was wearing a shirt that made his eight pack noticeable and he had huge biceps. He was also a werewolf and I could tell he was either an Alpha like me or a Beta since his sent was stronger. I saw a few girls looking my way either shocked or jealous. He intimated me but I didn’t want him to know that I was scared or else he would think that he has control over me. I know how this goes. 

“And why is that?” I asked him raising my eyebrows trying not to stutter as I tried to gain my confidence. 

“Because I’m not your typical guy.”

“Well maybe I’m not your typical girl.”

One of his hands moved away from the locker and I saw that as my opportunity to get away. So I slipped away from him and went to my first class as fast as I could. I don’t think that I have any classes with him because I didn’t see him, but I wasn’t paying much attention. I hope I don’t. As soon as I put my bag down and took my seat. I sighed, relieved that I was away from him. “Shit” I mumbled to myself. He walked into the classroom and he sniffed the air and I knew he detected my smell. He looked straight at me and smirked.

‘Please don’t sit next to me, please don’t sit next to me, please don’t sit next to me’ I kept repeating to myself.

Then he came over and sat next to me. ‘

What the hell, why me, I need to get away from him’ is all I thought.
