Forever and Always Mine

Chapter 9

Heather’s POV

            I was on stage getting ready to talk when an ear piercing scream shut me up right as I was going to introduce myself. I had no clue what was going on and I have to admit that I was scared. I looked over to Adrian and saw that he was alert and was ready for whatever was about to come. I haven’t shifted in a while so I don’t know how strong my wolf will be. I walked away from the microphone and walked over to Adrian. I always felt safer in his arms. He held me close to him but then he quickly let go as if someone or something was approaching. I could smell another werewolf and it was oddly familiar.

            I was brought inside with my two best friends Sarah and Brooke. They had come to see me become Luna. Well that backfired I thought to myself. I looked over to Sarah and Brooke and they looked petrified. Brooke already had her mate. His name was Connor. Sarah didn’t have a mate yet but her mother always bugged her about it. I felt bad because her mother thinks that she doesn’t want to find her mate but Sarah has been looking all over for him. She was beginning to give up.

I saw my beautiful mate outside. He was shifted into his huge black and muscular wolf. I saw him growling at another wolf trying to warn him off but he didn’t budge. The other wolf jumped towards my mate but he quickly moved out of the way. Then he jumped onto the other wolf. The other wolf wasn’t from this pack and he looked like an Alpha. His wolf looked so familiar. Then he looked at the window where I was standing and I saw him. I remember those eyes anywhere. The eyes I had nightmares about for years until I was with Adrian. The bloodthirsty, deadly red eyes that I never wanted to see again.

Alpha Erick!

I looked over to Brooke and I knew that she recognized him. Alpha Erick almost killed Brooke’s mother and father. My dad attacked him so they could get away. Then we were all forced to leave and I remember the very last words that Alpha Erick had said to me. ‘I will find you.’ It always stuck in my head and never left. It repeated it’s self in the pack of my head over and over and over again. I will never forget. I couldn’t even if I wanted to.

            I suddenly felt a sharp pain and looked outside. My mate was on the ground. He was being attacked and Alpha Erick was the one attacking him. There were guards blocking the entrance so no one could get in and no one could get out.

            I couldn’t watch my mate suffer I had to save him. I ran towards the door and pushed the guards out of my way. I ran towards my mate and my enemy. I jumped shifting in midair. I tackled Alpha Erick and began biting him in the neck. I got a firm bite and didn’t let go. My wolf was craving revenge and Alpha Erick’s blood. I wanted him to die. He tried to shake my off but I wouldn’t let go. I bit down harder and he howled in pain.

            Adrian came and jumped on Alpha Erick’s back. I still had a grip on the front of his neck and Adrian began attacking him from the back. Alpha Erick collapsed and he was close to death. I bit him one more time killing him off. Pleasure and pride filled my body knowing I did that. ‘Go back inside, I’ll finish off the rest’ Adrian said through the mind link. I nodded and went back inside. I shifted and got a new pair of clothes. I went downstairs back to Brooke and Sarah. They looked shocked by what just happened outside. I was about to say something when someone from Erick’s pack barged through the door.  Could tell because of his sent.

Oh shit I thought to myself. He’s going to kill me I thought again.

It was Alpha Erick’s Beta. He walked over to me and I was instantly filled with fear. He pinned me up against the wall with his hand on my throat. “Why did you kill him? He wanted you, he loved you and you and that asshole who you think is your mate killed him” he said. I wanted to answer back but I couldn’t. I was almost out of breath then I saw Sarah get up from the corner of my eye. She ran over to Erick’s Beta and tackled him to the ground. She landed on top and she smacked him across the face as she growled at him. He growled back but then they looked into each other’s eyes and something happened. I saw something click in her eyes.

Sarah’s POV

Erick’s Beta stormed into the house and he started chocking my best friend, Heather. I couldn’t stand it. I charged at him and tackled him down to the ground. My wolf was so mad and I almost shifted. I slapped him across the face and let out a warning growl. He growled back in return. I was about to smack him again when I looked into his eyes. They were beautiful. They were green and gray. They were so beautiful. He had dark brown hair and he was muscular. My wolf immediately changed from furious to loving and jumping with excitement. All I thought was ‘mate.’ I knew he felt the same and thought the same thing as me. I could see the love in his eyes.

            We both got up from off the floor and there was an awkward silence in the air. “What's going on?” Brooke asked. I looked over to him. I didn’t even know his name but he was perfect. He nodded his head telling me to tell them. “I found my mate” I said. Heather and Brooke’s mouth’s dropped open. “H-him?” Heather asked. I knew that she was a bit scared of him. He did try to kill her after all. I nodded my head at her question. I turned to him. “Josh-the name’s Josh” he said to me. “S-Sarah” I chocked out. “I better get back outside and stop what's happening. I’m the new Alpha after all” and with that he left.

            I was left speechless. Now my mother can finally leave me alone about finding a mate. I finally found him and I couldn’t be happier. Alpha Erick was dead and I found my mate. Now hopefully everyone can get along.
