“How is she?” Josh asked while standing up.

She looked at Josh then looked at me. Then a smile spread across her face and we both sighed knowing she was okay.

“The surgery went great. She is resting but will wake soon” she said and walked off so we could have some alone time with Sarah. Josh and I walked into the room with Adrian holding my hand. Sarah wasn’t as pale as before. She was back to her original self. She has always been pale but before the surgery she was as white as white could be.

I watched her smile when Josh moved the strands of hair out of her face. Then she frowned when he moved his hand away.

“Hold her hand.” I told him. He looked at me for a second then held her hand. The smile grew on her face making Josh smile. She started to move then her eyes fluttered open and immediately looked at Josh who was smiling down at her. She lightly smiled back before turning her gaze over to me. She weakly smiled and I returned it.

She looked around the room in confusion. I'm not sure if she remembers what happened and I really don’t feel like explaining it to her and I doubt that Josh wants to explain the dreadful moment either.

“What happened?” she quietly asked. I sighed knowing she was going to ask that.

“Something happened But you are okay now and that’s all that matters” Josh told her and she hesitantly nodded.

“What happened?” she asked and Josh looked like he wasn’t in the mood for talking about it and neither was I.

“You got hurt.” Josh simply said.

“How?” she asked and he sighed.

“It’s a long story and doesn’t matter anymore.”

“But I want to know” she whined.

“Vampires.” She gasped at the word.

“W-what did they do to me?”

“Y-you were s-stabbed with a silver k-knife” Josh struggled to say as he tried to fight back the tears that were threatening to spill out. I saw the tears in Sarah’s eyes. This is not an easy discussion to talk about and it’s not easy to watch either.

“W-where was I stabbed?” she asked then moved trying to get more comfortable when she yelped in pain. She looked down at her stomach and saw the stiches. Then she burst out into tears.

“Shh its okay, you’re okay” Josh tried to sooth her. I walked over to her and sat on the other side of the bed. I took her and in mine. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes as they still strolled down her cheeks.

“W-will . . . I s-still be able . . . to have k-kids?” she asked between sobs. Josh and I both looked at each other. None of us knew the answer to that. Then right on cue the doctor walked in.

“Is everything okay?” she asked.

“Will Sarah and I still be able to have kids?” Josh asked with watery eyes.

“I'm not sure yet. We have to wait a couple of days then I can do a sonogram and see how your stomach is” she said and we all nodded.

“Okay” Sarah quietly said.

The doctor walked out of the room after grabbing a couple of things. It was silent since there was nothing else that needed to be said. But then Sarah broke the silence.

“What if I can’t have kids?” Sarah sniffled while looking down at the floor.

“What do you mean?” Josh asked.
