Chapter 33

Adrian's POV

“Please don’t make me go” Cole cried. He looked at me with tears in his eyes and tear stains on his cheeks. A few more fresh tears escaped and rolled down his cheek before he forced himself to stop crying.

“Don’t worry, you’re not going anywhere” I told him and he looked relieved. I felt bad for the kid, being put through that at such a young age.

“Follow me and I’ll show you where you will be sleeping.” He nodded his and stood up. He followed me to the spare room and I got some clothes from my room and gave them to him. I know that they will be big on him but it’s better than nothing.

“I meant to ask you, what are you?” I asked him and he tilted his head to the side a bit not understanding what I was asking him.

“What do you mean?” he asked in a confused tone and I sighed.

“I mean, you’re not a werewolf or a human or a vampire. So what are you?” I asked him.

“I'm a phoenix” he said. I have heard of them before but I've never came in contact with one before. They can shift just like werewolves. The only difference is that they shift into a bird like creature.

“Okay, well we will talk more about this later” I told him and he nodded in agreement.

He told me that he was tired so I left him so he could get some shut eye. I would be tired if I was him too. I sighed as I exited the room and shut the door. Now it’s time to go find Heather and explain everything that’s going on.

Heather’s POV

I'm so confused on what's going on. None of this crap makes sense to me. Why the hell would he save someone that was working with the vampires? Boy or not it doesn’t matter. He still helped them. And why did he say that he wasn’t with them willingly? He has a lot of explaining to do.

Adrian walks into our bedroom and stops at the doorway. He looks at me but I dot say anything, I just draw my attention away and look down at the floor. I hear his footsteps as he fully walks into the room and comes to my side. He sits down next to me on the edge of the bed and sighs. If anyone should be sighing, it should be me. I'm so confused on everything.

“I guess I have some explaining to do” Adrian said breaking the silence. I looked at him with an aggravated look.

“You think?” I said a little harsh and he sighed.

“Okay so where do you want me to start?” he asked.

“When the fight began” I told him not even having to stop and think. I don’t even remember him leaving to go fight. I don’t remember much from the past couple of hours. Only that I blanked out and that I had a small fight with Adrian. Now here we are.

“Well you had passed out, then Sarah came running to me and told me about the vampires and that Josh was outside with them by himself. So I said goodbye to you and told Sarah to lock every window and ever door. Then I told her to stay in the room with you and she did as I said.” he paused for a second but I nodded my head telling him to continue.

“Then I went outside and found a group of them. I thought that they were all vampires at first since I was filled with rage. The vampires were aggravating me. I told them to leave but they said that they weren’t going to leave until I gave them something-” he was about to continue but I cut him off with a question.

“What did they want?”

He hesitated at first but soon answered in a low voice.

“You”
