Chapter 25

I woke up to my phone ringing. I groaned and picked it up to see who was calling me at seven in the morning. It was Sarah. I wonder what she’s doing up so earl and why she’s calling me. I answered the phone.

“Hello?” I answered into the phone trying not to sound tired.

“I’m sorry to wake you but can I come over?” she asked with a sniffle.

“Sure see you soon” I said and hung up. I wonder what she needs. We have to see her parents today. I need to tell them to be on a look out at all times. We can’t tell them that we are the chosen ones. I wonder how they are going to take this. But I just hope that everything will go well when we tell them. I’m going to have some of the packs best fighters on watch and I need someone to be with Sarah’s parents at all times. We can never be too cautious.

There was a knock on the door and I immediately opened it. There stood a worn down Sarah. Her eyes were red and I could tell she has been crying. Poor thing. I would be the same way if I knew there was a high risk of my parents being killed, especially when you’re as close to your parents as she is. They always spent so much time with her but not my parents. My brother practically raised me but I still love my parents.

“Are you okay?” I asked her and she shook her head no. I looked at her with a worried face. Next thing I know I stumbled back and have Sarah hugging me tight like her life depends on it. I immediately hug her back.

“Sshhh” I whisper to her trying to calm her down the best I can. I'm not used to seeing Sarah this way. It makes me want to cry. I haven’t known her as long as Brooke but they are both like my sisters and I care for them. They are the closest friends I have since I don’t have many. I have them and Adrian’s friends, and that’s about it.

She calmed down and we released from our long lasting hug. We sit down on the couch. It was quiet for a good ten minutes or so before she spoke up.

“What are we going to tell my parents?” she asked with a look of sorrow and worry.

“I'm not too sure but we will figure it out. I'm going to have some of our best fighters on guard until this whole thing is settled and I will have some of our fighters watching your parents at all times. I will make sure they will stay safe, and no just them but the whole pack” I told her with a slight smile. She returned the smile but I could tell it was fake.

“Okay” she said quietly.
