Chapter 27

“Heather, I have some news for you” I heard someone say. The voice sounded so familiar but I couldn’t put a finger on who the voice belonged to. I looked in the direction to where the voice was coming to. It was the Moon Goddess. I hope that its good news but it seems that whenever she delivers news, it’s always something I don’t want to hear.

I look over at mine and my friends mate. They are staring at the Moon Goddess in shock whereas Sarah and I are calm. We have both talked to the Moon Goddess before but I pretty much talk to her every day.

“What news do you have?” I asked.

“It’s about the vampires and your grandfather.”

“What about them?”

“Well he is killing many humans and making them his slaves. His army is getting larger by the day. The larger their army is the harder it will be to destroy your grandfather. He is becoming stronger every time he kills a human. But he isn’t just taking humans.”

“Who else is he taking?”

“So many other lives. He isn’t changing them but is forcing them to do as he says. He is kidnaping farriers, angels, werewolves, and hybrids. They have no choice but to do as he says. He is the strongest vampire and possible the strongest person living. He will do whatever it takes to find you. He doesn’t want to kill you but once he gets his hands on you he will never let you go.” She finished and I heard a vicious and loud growl. I look back at Adrian. His eyes were pitch black and he was trying his best to control his wolf. He closed his eyes and took deep breaths. I walked over to him and put my hand on his shoulder. I felt him calm a little but he was still struggling with his wolf.

“It’s okay, I'm not going anywhere” I whispered into his ear. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me into him. He took a deep breath and inhaled my scent. I guess my scent was calming his down since he relaxed his muscles and loosened his grip on me. He took one more deep breath before opening his eyes. They had returned back to their original color.

“I know” he simply said and he gave me a kiss on my forehead. We turned our attention back to the Moon Goddess who was smirking at us. I look around to see if there’s anything funny or amusing that she would be smirking about but I saw nothing.

“Why are you smiling?” Josh asked.

“Because the Fates chose well.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Picking you and Adrian as mates. You two were obviously made for each other.” I smiled at her comment. She was pretty much saying that we make a cute couple but I already knew that. I knew that Adrian and I made a perfect couple. I love him and he loves me. I wouldn’t want it any other way. We are happy and that’s all that matters.

“I'm so thankful for them picking Heather as my mate; I don’t know what I did to deserve her but I'm glad that she’s mine” Adrian said. I looked up and smiled at him. I intertwined my fingers with his. My hand fit perfectly in his. He bent down and gave me a quick peck on the lips. I turned back to the Moon Goddess. We really have to figure out a plan because at this rate, there is no way that we will be able to defeat my grandfather. Just the thought of him being my grandfather makes me disgusted. I don’t even want to think of him as a part of my family. He is just some low life piece of shit that doesn’t have a care in the world. As far as I care he can go die in the pits of hell, because that’s where he’s going anyways.

“What should we do, we need a plan but what?” I asked.

“That’s why I came to you; we need to figure this out together. Find a way to become stronger faster and be ready for his attack. He doesn’t know that you know about his plan. As far as he knows, he thinks you think he’s dead and that’s the way we have to keep it.”
