Forever and Always Mine

Chapter 5

Heather’s POV

            I was with my Adrian and my family. We were having a good time in my backyard surrounding the fire. We were telling funny stories and I was happy again not worrying about anything. I was having fun like I use to before the incident. I was sitting next to Adrian. He had his arm wrapped around me protectively. I was so happy that my family approved of him. I don’t know what I would have done if they didn’t. I haven’t seen my dad this relaxed in forever. And my mom and my dad finally get to talk and it isn’t about the pack. I sensed something different and my wolf did to but I didn’t think anything of it. I heard rustling in the trees but I bet it was just the wind so I turned back to my family. I looked Adrian in the eye. There was so much love and care. I loved that about him. I loved that we could share anything and how in love we were. “You are so beautiful, you have no clue how much I love you. Words can’t describe how much I feel for you” he said. “I don’t know what I would do without you” I said back and we leaned in for a kiss. Before our lips touched he was ripped away from my grip I had on his hands. “I know what you would do without him” he said. I knew exactly who he was. The deadly red eyes, his evil smirk and the look. The devil- Alpha Erick. He snapped Adrian’s neck and I screamed as I ran to my dead mate. He then moved to the rest of my family. “GO, RUN WHILE YOU CAN GET AWAY” my mom said as my dad was trying to fight him off. Alpha Erick was too strong for any of us. He killed my family and came up to me. “Your mine now” he said and he sounded like a devil. I was terrified. He grabbed me and dragged me away from my home. He threw me down in the basement of his house. “See you later love” he said with his evil laugh and closed the door.

            I shot up screaming in a sweat. Then Adrian shot up with big eyes alert for whatever was coming. I started sobbing. My dream seemed so real. I don’t know what I would do if Adrian was taken away from me. “What happened, are you okay?” he asked me with so much worry in his eyes. Even though it was dark I could still see him. “I had a nightmare, it was terrible and seemed so real” I said between sobs. He picked me up and put me in his lap while I cried in his chest. It felt so good to be in his arms and I felt safe for once. “Ssshhh its okay I'm here, tell me what happened” he said while rocking me back and forth. I couldn’t let him know my past I didn’t want him to get involved if something did ever happen. I loved him too much to tell him. “I-I can’t” I said still sobbing. “Why is that” he asked. “Because… I just can’t” I said just wanting this conversation to stop and I started to calm down. “Please I can’t help you unless you tell me” “maybe later I just want to go back to bed” I said laying back down trying to get comfortable. I drifted back into a deep sleep and I hoped I wouldn’t have another dream like that.

            Adrian’s POV

“Would you mind coming over I need to talk to you” I was calling Heather’s older brother through her phone. She was still sleeping. I still don’t know how I was so lucky to have her as my mate. I needed to know about her past so I could help her. I didn’t want her to be living in fear. But I feel like if I found out about her past, she should know about mine. She doesn’t even know that I'm an Alpha. “Why what's wrong, is Heather okay?” Ryan asked. He sounded scared and worried. It makes me feel good to know how much he cared about her. “No I just need to know something but I just want to talk to you in person” I said. “Okay I’ll be right over” he said and we hung up. I just hope that Heather doesn’t wake up while her brother is here.  Don’t want her to be made at me.

            The doorbell went off and I quickly answered the door knowing it was Ryan. “So you’re my sisters mate hu?” he said. I hope he approves of me. “Yes I am please come in” I said. “I hope that you’re treating my little sis well, she deserves the best” he said. “I treat her like a princess but honestly I don’t know how she ended up being my mate, I'm so lucky to have her” I said truthfully. “Just by you saying that I can tell that you love and care about her so I approve” he said while shaking my hand. I gave him a smile. “Sit down, please” I offered and he took a seat on the couch while I sat down on the one in front of him. “So what did you need to talk to me about” “well Heather woke up in the middle of the night screaming and in a sweat. I asked her what was wrong and she told me she had a nightmare. Then I asked her what it was about but she said that she couldn’t tell me. So I figured you would know. All I wasn’t to do is help her and keep her safe” I said. “Oh” he said looking at the ground. “Is there something wrong. Just please tell me” I said. “Well, have you ever heard of the Black Bloods Pack?” he asked. I nodded my head yes. “I have heard of them but I don’t know a lot about them, only that their Alpha is Alpha Erick” I said and he immediately tensed up and his hands turned into fists. “That use to be my dad’s pack. He used to be the Alpha” he said through clenched teeth. “What happened?” “Alpha Erick wanted to marry Heather when she was eighteen. She hadn’t even shifted at the time and he was twice her age. It disgusted me. My dad turned him down and he over through our pack so we move here. My dad became the Beta but the Alpha died unexpectedly and the Alpha didn’t have a child to take over. My dad was the next best thing so now he’s the Alpha of Blue Moons Pack” he said. I clenched my teeth and fists. How dare anyone try to force my princess into marrying them. I calmed down enough to ask him another question. “What are her dreams usually about?” “Well she usually has nightmares of Alpha Erick finding and killing us. Then taking her away” he said and I felt like I was going to cry. “Are you okay?” he asked me. I took a deep breath trying to calm my wolf. “How dare he, if he ever comes near her again I’ll rip his throat out” I threatened. “You have no clue” he said agreeing with me. Then I heard rustling coming from upstairs. I didn’t want her to get mad at me for asking her brother. I looked at him with big eyes and he was just as nervous as I was. I didn’t know what she was like when she was angry and I really didn’t want to find out. There wasn’t enough time for Ryan to leave since she already started coming downstairs. “Ryan, what are you doing here?” she asked Ryan looking at him then me. She narrowed her eyes at me.
