I got to my destination and met Ian with someone, a model I assume –I had seen him earlier on the stage. They were laughing at what one of them had said.
As I drew closer, I got a better view of the person Ian was laughing with and there was only one word I could use to describe him. Damn, he was young and handsome.
Talk about those intriguing hazel coloured eyes, babe! My inner voice squealed.
Wow!!
Yeah, I had a thing for people with coloured eyes, they catch my attention faster than you can blink. I find them fascinating.
I walked past them to where I'd earlier been standing and placed the chair besides Ian.
He looked over at me with his dimply smile. "What took you long?"
"Erm, I was stopped on the way by a friend."
"Oh." He nodded and stole a glance at what young man seated next to him was doing. "Your phone's been ringing." He said to me.
"Oh, okay." I collected my bag from floor, brought out the phone and indeed found several missed calls. "Thank you."
He flashed me a smile and turned his attention to the guy beside him.
I stared after him longingly, wondering what had him all excited. I let out a soft breath, opened my phone and blinked as I checked the calls I'd missed. Four from Rosa and one from Krystal.
I bit my lower lip and frowned. "What could possibly be going on to warrant these calls?" I mused.
You forgot, your life is a headline story. My inner voice offered.
Ha! But how and when did that happen?
Ask yourself. Was the reply I got.
I swiped the screen and was about returning their calls when Rosa's call came in.
"Oye!" She squealed. I winced –isn't she supposed to be at work. "¿Como estás usted?"
"Soy bien." I smiled.
"¿Como está el trabajo?" She asked.
"Ha sido bueno hasta ahora." I answered. "What's with the Spanish?"
"Can't you tell? I'm so in the Spanish speaking mood." I arced my brow as though she could see me. "I just felt like speaking the language to see if I still remember the basics."
"Oh." I muttered.
"Have you eaten?"
"No." I frowned.
"Why?!"
"Because I've been busy." I pointed out.
"And you didn't take any food with you?"
"Nope." I answered, emphasizing the 'p'.
She paused for a moment, "Did you even eat this morning before leaving?" She said, with a low voice.
"Sadly, no." I sighed. "I woke up late and left the house in a hurry."
"Jeez! That's bad." She mumbled. "I'll tell Krystal to make it an objective that you eat before leaving or you at least take something with you."
"Please, do." I cried.
"So," she started with her usual cheery voice. "What's up?"
"Nothing much," I shrugged. "The photoshoot is going well as planned and everything's good. Although, I'm currently on a break."
