If I was told a couple of years back that I, Kiara Michaelson would step foot in land property worth over 10 million euros owned by a very prestigious actor, I would laugh in the person's face and probably tell them of how good and big their dream and lie was. But, here I was basking in that dream not wanting to wake up.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding until this moment, a silent gasp escaping me as I waited for the gate to be open and a huge part of me anticipated seeing what was beyond the gate. I knew Ian was rich, very rich but his modest nature had me forgetting who he was and heck, I wanted to see just how modest he was with his property.
The gate beeped open and I gladly welcome myself inside but there was no building, only a couple of stairs which I assumed led to the main building. I ascended the stairs which opened to a wide clearing with a neatly mowed lawn on either side of the paved footpath on which I was standing. The right side of the lawn had neat and freshly pruned flowers with a few lounge chairs, tables and shades. I guess that spot would serve as a relaxation area. On the other hand, the left side of the lawn was pretty much empty but large enough to host a house party and I felt like it was daring me to come walk and play on it but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
I let out a sigh, shaking my head and took up the challenge to actually look at the house and honestly, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at all surprised.
OH MY GOSH!! Inner Kiara squealed. This ain't no modesty, girlfriend. That is arrogance at its peak.
True.
I don't know much about buildings but one thing is for sure. This house would certainly make the cover photo for the monthly home magazine. Heck, this is the kind of house that the crew of extreme homes would love to cover -that's if it hasn't already graced the show.
"Whoa!!" I breathed. "What was I expecting?" Whoever the architect of this building is, he sure did his homework and he certainly deserves some accolades. From the little I know, this was a modern house, every worker's dream -even non-workers. Inner Kiara remarked.
"This is beautiful," I muttered.
Anyhow, still reeling from the shock, I successfully made my way to the porch and eventually the front door. I raised my hands about to ring the doorbell when the door flew open revealing the man of the hour. Ian Calloway.
"Hey." He breathed with a wide smile that showed his dimples.
Oh, those dimples.
I stood back and waved my already raised hand. "Hi." I smiled.
He stepped aside to let me in like a true butler. "Thanks for coming." He said. "Oh and welcome my home."
"My home!!" I muttered under my breath. "This is home."
I nodded and walked into a lavish living room. Might I add that the living room space is twice my living room at home even bigger than that of his penthouse. It was just as I expected, the interiors were so dope and they screamed money. If I thought that his penthouse was expensive then I must have thought wrong.
Oh my!! Mom, I wish you could see this. This is paradise.
"You have a beautiful home." I heard myself saying.
"Thank you." He replied, walking deeper into the living room adorned with fanciful comfy chairs, a beanbag and a cushion table. "Please, have a seat."
"Mhm, sure," I answered, distractedly and dropped my bag on one of the chairs as I continued, taking in the entire living area. It was designed with pretty cool colours and beautiful artwork that framed the wall. Behind the living room was a very modern kitchen with high-quality electronic equipment, not to mention the exquisite cooking wares hiding behind those cabinets. I don't even want to talk about the how many inches TV staring right back at me but in all of these, something else caught my attention and captured it for quite some time -the swimming pool.
