I caught a glimpse of Hailey's back as she stepped into the elevator and sighed before entering the door pin. The door opened to the paradise of a home and I began to wonder about what I would do later on since I didn't have much work to do. Today unlike every other Mondays was quite different and it meant that with little or no work at all, I'll close early, at least that was I thought.

I'd already started with the daily routine check when my phone rang and it was Erika calling. "Good morning."

"Hey, how are you?" Her voice came rather cheerful.

"I'm fine."

"I'm guessing you're already at work, how's work?"

I leaned against the recliner, running my fingers along its edges. "I just started but it's okay."

"Good to know, have you by chance seen Ian this morning?"

"Nope."

"Weird." She muttered. "If you see him, could you tell him to call me asap?"

"Sure." I coincidentally glanced at the table and saw the letter that Hailey dropped and remembered that I was supposed to relay a message across. "That's right, Hailey said she was trying to reach you."

"Really?"

"Yeah, she dropped a letter requesting a maternity leave, I guess. I already approved it, I just wanted to let you know."

"No problem. I thought she was supposed to have taken her leave since last month."

I shrugged as a thought came to my mind.

"Are you at work?"

"No, I'm at home. Why?"

"Aha, that's the reason you're calm talking with me."

She laughed. "I needed the break, although I'm working from home."

"Oh." I muttered, tucking a stray hair behind my ear.

"I'll appoint someone to take her position for the time being."

"Don't worry, I'll do it."

She cleared her throat softly. "No," She answered. "You have your own work to do and adding anymore task to it would be overwhelming for you."

I kept quiet because she was right. "Yes, that reminds me," her voice rang. "I have an outing later in the day." I pursed my lips wondering why she was telling me about it. "And I need a make up artist."

"Okay?" I answered.

"So, Rosa recommended you for the job." I rolled my eyes but smiled. Typical Rosa.

"But I'm no professional."

"And I'm not looking for one." She replied. "I saw your work on your Instagram page."

"Woah, there's no going back." I laughed. "You'll send me the address and time and let's see what can be done."

"Yay." She squealed. "I'll text you that once I end the call."

"Okay." I laughed.

"I've got to go now, I'll see you later."

"Sure, happy stay at home."

She chuckled. "Thanks, have a nice day and when you see Ian tell him to call me."

"Okay, bye."

I got the text immediately I got off the phone with her but before I could open it, I received a message on the group chat from both Rosa and Krystal and so I let the text be and replied their chat which was an argument about a movie.
