Two hours and a couple of minutes later, we found ourselves at Richard's vacation home in Manchester after much deliberation. It was a much better option than shuttling between London and Manchester and staying at the hotel with less privacy according to Ian. It was even more advantageous because of its closeness to the filming site.
Richard walked into the living room having changed from his outfit. He exhaled and tiredly dropped himself on the couch, stretching his limbs.
"Hah! It feels so good to be home." He sighed. "I don't think I remember the last time I was here."
"Mhmn," I raised a brow at his comment, looking up from my phone. "It feels good to be home but you don't remember the last time you were here. That sounds contradicting."
He gave a sideway glance and responded with a smile.
"That would be because," Adrian cut in, shutting the refrigerator door, and walking into the living space with three cans of beer. "This," he said, gesturing at the room, "isn't his actual home."
"It is only one of his many properties." He finished, offering a can of beer to either of us. "Care for a drink?"
Richard pulled himself into a sitting position, accepting the drink from him. "Ya!!" He yelled. "Why you little..." He began but Adrian cut him off with a raise of his brow, stretching his hand with the other drink in my direction which I gladly accepted.
He clicked his tongue instead of completing his initial statement, letting out a sigh. "You really make it sound common."
Adrian pushed out his lower lip and gave a blank shrug. "What?" He peeled open his drink and trudged his way from us to the electric recliner.
"I was merely stating the obvious truth." He said, making himself comfortable on the chair. "Ah, I'm so tired." He mumbled.
Hmm!! Just one of his many properties. I thought, letting my eyes roam the room for the umpteenth time. I could only imagine the number of the other properties he owned.
Why it came as a surprise to me was something I didn't understand but it was much expected from him and Ian and probably Adrian. These guys were too modest for their own good.
"Whoa!" I let out a steady breath, staring at both my friends, too shocked to react.
"Hey," He shuffled back in his seat. "Don't give me that look. I'm still Richard, nothing changes."
"Yeah," I blinked, nodding my head. "I keep forgetting that you aren't any Richard but Richard Seo of ABS corporations. "
At that, he threw his head back in laughter while I stared at him with amazement.
"How is it that you don't move around with your guards?" I asked, suddenly curious. "Come to think of it, you're always driving yourself around. I haven't once seen you with a chauffeur."
Adrian snorted a laugh, drawing my attention to him. "And you think he doesn't have those?" He arced his head in our direction, looking between me and Richard who had finished laughing.
He shook his head, clicked his tongue and took a huge gulp of his beer.
"Ah." He sighed. "How naive of you."
Yeah. How naive of you, Kiara.
Richard threw Adrian a look with a crescent smile. "Shut up, Adrian."
Oh, would you look at that? He isn't denying it. I said, inwardly or so I thought until I heard him speaking with an exasperated expression.
"I can hear you, Kiara."
