Monday came with its usual hustling and bustling and I swear it was hell confusing and tiring. I'd like for the weekend to continue with the fun and laughter but not all of us had a two weeks break or a failed class trip, some of us had work to do and that's where I and Rosa came in. I was never a fan of Mondays most particularly when I had a job to do.

"Okay Dad, I've got to go." I raced past him to the door. He popped his head out of the kitchen and gave me a thumbs up mouthing 'good luck' before disappearing back into the kitchen. I smiled and proceeded to open the door but paused when I heard a squeal.

"Won't you wait for me?" Rosa's voice rang from the top of the stairs.

I turned and saw her struggling to pull her hair into a neat ponytail with Krystal behind her smiling, she was still in her pajamas. She caught me staring and waved at me.

"Hey sister, hope you had a nice night?" She smiled, descending the stairs with Rosa. "You're going to work quite early, don't you think?" She smirked, arms folded on her chest.

I eyed her with a tight smile. "Don't you have a school to attend?

"Nope." She smiled. "All thanks to the failed class trip. Ain't that nice?" She snickered quietly.

I rolled my eyes at her antics.

"You know, I would have gone with you but I don't want to miss a daddy and daughter time." She placed a hand on my shoulder, fixing me with her stare. "I hope you understand." She added.

I nodded gently removing her hand from my shoulder. "Are you done?" I sassed.

"Yes." She blinked, smiling brightly.

I huffed. "Rosa, are you done? I need to get out of here before I do something I'll later regret." I said through clenched teeth, placing my hand on the door handle.

"Yes." She panted, having succeeded in pulling her hair into a pony. "Where are you rushing to?" She asked.

"Work." I answered, leaning on the door.

"Are you sure you're not in a hurry to see a certain someone?" Krystal asked, wiggling her brows while Rosa giggled.

I gave both of them a blank look and went out of the house.

"Hey, wait for me." Rosa shouted but I ignored her.

"So in the end, you still had to wait for me to give you a ride, huh?" She asked, walking briskly to where I was waiting by her car, unlocking it.

I looked at her and smiled. "Do you want me to take the bus?"

"Hah, no. That's not what I meant." She answered and opened the car.

"Indeed." I mumbled under my breath.

"Why are you like this this morning?" She placed the car in reverse and pulled out of the driveway.

"Like what?" I answered, struggling with my seat.

She swerved the car to the side of the road and parked it to put on her seatbelt and then turned to wave at Dad and Krystal who were standing on the porch before hitting the road.

She glanced at me, a wary smile on her lips. "Like a third-class bitch." I frowned but she shrugged. "Sorry, you okay?"

"Yes." I replied, keeping my purse in my bag.

"Then, why the long face?" She asked.

"Today's Monday, there is going to be massive paperwork, it's going to be stressful, and boring and I'm going to be alone. I'm not happy about that." I complained. "Why is today Monday?" I sighed and looked at her forlornly.
