I shook my head with a few blinks, letting out an exasperated sigh.
"Rosa, would you please come out of that room?!" I yelled for the umpteenth time.
"I'm coming." She yelled back. "Just give me a few more minutes."
I pinched the bridge of the nose and slumped my shoulders.
For just how long?
That was the same word she had been saying for the past thirty minutes since we decided to go out. For Christ sake, we aren't going for some uptown party or a club, we were just going chill in a restaurant and probably fill our eyes.
I took a glance at the time and was about to call her again when she emerged out from her room, wearing a sundress and an herculean sandals with a radiant smile on her face.
Her sundress was similar to mine although in another colour and design. She looked gorgeous but she didn't need to know that. It will only inflate her already huge ego.
"Hey." She walked up to me, purse in hand still smiling. "Why that grumpy look on your face?"
I dropped my phone and gave her a look.
"A certain someone decided to lock herself up in her room with her makeup kit." I finished with a sassy smile.
She smiled and sat down, bringing out a mirror and lipstick from her purse.
"Oh, c'mon." She waved at me. "You know you've got to look really good when you're going out. There's no telling who you'll run into, probably Mr Right." She smiled, looking at the mirror.
"Mr Right?" I scoffed. "That isn't enough reason for you to lock yourself in your room for hours."
She glanced at me. "For hours?" She muttered and continued with applying her lipstick.
"He is supposed to accept you for who you are, with or without makeup." I continued.
She frowned, clapped the mirror close and stood up, staring at me.
"Isn't that true?"
She rolled her eyes at me. "Oh please." She waved me off and walked towards the door. "Save your lectures, we're leaving already."
She stormed off leaving the door open for me to close. I broke into a fit of giggles as I shut the door.
She got to her car, opened it and turned to look at me, her hair moving with the motion.
"When you're done, hop in the car." She got in the car and slammed the door shut with a bam causing me to jump in my position.
Oops, I got on someone's bad side.
"Babe!!" I smiled and jogged my way over to the car after making sure the door was locked.
"Hey." I started, "you didn't have to slam the door like that in my face." I mumbled as I tried to strap myself the seatbelt.
She threw a glare that effectively shut me up.
I took the message and kept quiet. Taking out my wireless ear pod, I connected them to the stereo and let the music play as we continued on our way to the restaurant. After a while, I noticed Rosa throwing a few cursory glance my way until she snorted and shook her head.
Now, what was my offence? I thought.
I blinked. "What?"
"You're annoying." She replied.
"I know." I frowned, softly. "But, how?"
"You just connect your earphones to the car enjoying the music all by yourself and left me to wallow in this boring silence."
