Part 32

[ Princy's pov ]

Hmm. It's still the same, nothing changed in these 11 years. The air I inhaled when I was 7, was same as now; the fragrance. This feels nostalgic but terrific. I'm having this different vibe from this place. This place? I am in Daegu.

I sat down on the grass and stare at the kids running, falling, crawling, crying, giggling but moreover, getting back up. Shifting my gaze to the people chatting while having a walk, I realize that life in Seoul is such a hustle. We basically have no time to sit and chat on regular basis.

I was wondering multiple things while sitting on the same grass I used to play on. My favorite ice cream truck happens to be here as well, even after years. I scoff at myself for denying the fact that, I missed this place.

"You missed it, right?" I looked at the person as he took a seat beside me.

"Not really. Just, you know it's my hometown, so trying to recollect as much as I can." He scoffed and I frowned.

"What was that scoff?" He looked at me.

"You can never lie to your hoon, Gold." He brushed the tip of my nose with his fingers.

"You wish." I chuckled.

"What are you doing here?" I shake my head, "nothing. I just remembered this garden and decided to stay for a bit."

I sigh before getting up and dusting my pants and palms.

"Princy?" I turned around at the mention of my name, but freeze at the sight of the lady.

"Is that you, Princy?" My throat went dry.

She came to me slowly and I stared at her. When she was in front of me, she raised her both hands, and hold my face in between them.

"That is you, right?" Her voice cracked out of emotions and me being completely in the moment, could only nod.

She broke into tears and I silently stare at them sliding down her eyes. When I finally thought of breathing, I raised my palms to remove the tears and hugged her tight while tear drops fall down from my eyes as well.

"Miss Choi." Her name came out as whisper. Miss Choi, my nanny. The one who loved me unconditional, priceless. Her motherly care is the only thing that helped me out to be sane.

"I missed you, a lot." I said as I hugged her even tight. She caressed my back as I sob a little before breaking the hug and adoring the beautiful lady in front of me.

"You've grown up, my baby." She pats my head and I giggle.

"You did as well." I pat her head as well sarcastically and she hits me playfully.

"You're still the joker as you used be!" I laughed.

"When did you come to Daegu? You didn't come to meet me even after being here?" She pouts.

"You're getting wrong miss Choi. I arrived in Daegu today and decided to explore a bit. But I had no idea that you're back in Daegu already?" She nods while sighing.

"I'd been working for almost 40 years and thought, now that my son is already employed and is earning more than enough for the whole family, it's time to take my retirement. So I came back here 5 years ago." I nod my head in agreement.
