The next day, Mark leaped out of bed before his alarm. He definitely still had a concussion, but decided to ignore it.

He was down in the kitchen, eating a stale piece of bread when his mother came in and gasped.

"Mark! What about your injury?!"

"I feel perfectly fine, Mom. The coach just worries a bit too much,"Mark shrugged. "He's a little bit of a hypochondriac. He tries not to let it interfere with his daily life, but you know how it is."

Mark's mother raised her eyebrows. "If you say so."

"Anyways, I'll be off. Love you!"Mark yelled as he rushed out the door.

He wanted to get in some early morning practice down at the training area. Nobody else was there when he got there, so he set up a ball launcher and aimed the footballs at his chest.

"The school sure can afford a lot of footballs,"Mark murmured to himself. "And they're the good quality ones too!"

He underestimated the severity of his concussion, and he got winded after a while, so he just lay down on the floor for a while with his eyes closed.

"Mark?"

He opened his eyes to see a shirtless Axel. The sunlight shone through his hair, and it seemed to define his chest.

"You look like an angel,"Mark sighed.

"Oh shut up! Why are you lying on the floor? Are you hurt?"

"You're so sexy when you're concerned,"Mark couldn't help but smile. "Kiss me."

"Are you sure you're ok?"

"Yes,"Mark said as he reached up to grab Axel and pull him down. Axel clumsily fell on top of Mark.

Mark couldn't help but giggle. "Wow. This is the exact outcome I wanted."

Axel playfully rolled his eyes. "Are you certain that you're ok?"

"I'm just a little winded. But I think that's because you look so hot you fucking took my breath away."

Axel went red. "Stop!"

"I never get to see you shirtless. Only like after a game. Or when we're at practice. Never when it's just us,"he traced his abs. "Fuck, you're beautiful."

"How hard did you hit your head?"Axel laughed.

"I'm serious,"Mark said, gazing into Axel's eyes. "Kiss me."

"Since you asked so nicely,"Axel couldn't help but smile as he pressed his lips to Mark's. They gripped each other tightly as they passionately made out on the cold slate floor of the training centre.

"Hello guys!"they heard a clumsy voice that could only belong to Jack. "Oh no! I'm so sorry! I keep finding you doing that."

The two boys awkwardly got up and dusted themselves off.

"Uh, I was just resurrecting Mark, because I thought he died,"Axel said awkwardly.

Mark couldn't help but keel over laughing. Jack sighed. "I'm not that innocent, you know."

Axel facepalmed. "I don't know."

He walked over to the other side of the training centre to grab his shirt.

"RIP shirtless Axel,"Mark laughed.

"What were you guys doing anyways?"Jack asked.

Mark raised an eyebrow.

"Uh, before you were on the floor, being resurrected,"Jack said awkwardly.

Mark stifled a giggle before saying. "Oh, I was practicing my new move, before a ball hit me too hard and then I was just lying down. And then Axel came down here."

"I thought you had a concussion,"said Jack worriedly.

"I don't!"

"He does! Don't listen to him!"Axel said.

"It's fine! I'll just ignore it till the game then!"

"Oh fine! Have fun with permanent brain damage!"Axel said indignantly.

"It's cute that you're so worried about me,"said Mark. "But I assure you, I'm fine."

Axel narrowed his eyebrows. "I'm not convinced."
