I like how everyone is so mad at Hero
I also wrote this while playing megalovania on my kazoo because it boosts my mood and productivity lol

Later that evening, when Ms. Suzuki got back home, the first thing she did was make dinner. Well, after she hugged Kel and told him he'd be okay. And that he was safe here… and that he didn't have to go back to that dreaded house…
Kel had burst into tears when that happened. Truthfully, he was happy he didn't have to go back there. He never really felt happy there. Only Hero kept him happy… but now that was ruined too. Maybe Sunny and Ms. Suzuki were the only trustable people.
"Oh, honey. You're so skinny, how haven't I noticed it until now?"
Kel shrugs slightly, swallowing down his chewed food. "I don't think anyone noticed, really. I do move around a lot, so I guess it's hard to notice."
Ms. Suzuki frowns, placing down another plate of food in front of him. "Goodness, you must be starving."
Kel nods. "Mhm." He simply hums, stuffing his gob with the delicious nums.
Sunny sat across from him, slowly eating his own portion of food.
"Well, you two finish eating and then get to bed. I'm going to head off to bed now, okay?"
Kel nods, "Okay, goodnight!" Sunny hums, "Goodnight amma."
"Goodnight boys. I'll see you in the morning." And with that, she left the room.
Kel looks up at Sunny. He seemed aloof, maybe he was daydreaming. He did always have a pretty vivid imagination.
"Hey, Sunny?"
Sunny hums, signaling he was listening.
"Do you think they'll try to take me back?"
The pale boy hesitates, "I don't know…" He whispers. "I hope not…" He says and continues eating.
"…Yeah. Me too."

The next month was actually pretty good. Kel and Sunny would play games together while Ms. Suzuki was out. They'd eat together, make snacks together, and sometimes they'd even snuggle when watching cartoons.
Kel enjoyed every second of it. His favorite moments were watching movies while snacking on some popcorn with Sunny, laying in the pillow fort they made.
Honestly, his life felt so much better.
Ms. Suzuki's cooking was the best. Always warm and fresh, it tasted like nothing he'd ever had before. He loved her cooking. And she never told him he couldn't have any, so that's a plus!
That, and she never hurt him. Or belittled him.
She loved him. And that makes him happy.
The only bad thing was that school was coming up. He didn't want to go back to school. He'd just upset Ms. Suzuki with his bad grades.
He had two weeks until then. And every day that went by increased his stress tenfold.
Sunny was fourteen now, his birthday being just a week ago. Kel was a year older than him, but it wouldn't be obvious until his fifteenth birthday in November. So, right now, they were technically the same age.
Kel rolled over onto his side, "hey, Sunny?" He asks quietly.
Sunny hums in response.
"Why hasn't mom- er, Ms. Suzuki gotten home yet?"
