"Don't tell me you need me
If you don't believe it
So let me know the truth
Before I dive right into you"***
Annie had grabbed a large bowl of popcorn and held it out for my dad who naturally grimaced at her, "No thank you."
He took off his coat and handed it to me while I hung it on the rack. "What would you like to drink, dear?" Aunt Leana smiled at me.
"Do you have um... juice?"
"Sure," she chuckled. "Watermelon or orange?"
"Watermelon!" I replied with too much enthusiasm, making even Uncle Jeff snicker.
Dad seated himself in the lonely armchair, scrolling through his phone with his legs crossed. He even rolled up his sleeves and glanced at his watch, "When does it start?"
"Twenty minutes!" Annie replied excitedly.
"Soccer freak." Arthur plumped down next to her, snatching the bowl. "BB freak," she countered while snatching it back.
The doorbell rang and my eyes lit up. "It must be Danny-" I got up, causing all eyes to turn my way. "Or someone else can get it..." I flushed, sitting back down.
Dad grunted, "Just leave."
I grinned at him and almost squealed as I ran to the front door. It was a great idea for everyone to gather at Uncle Jeff's place for Gary's game. Especially since he boasted often about the new sound system that he installed with the TV.
"Mom?" I gasped and she did the same.
"Sweetheart!" She hugged me, "How come you're here?"
"We came to watch Gary's game," I giggled.
"We?" Her eyes widened. "Your father's here too?"
"Yeah. What about you?"
"Leana called me over. Ugh, she set us up."
I chuckled and Aunt Leana soon appeared behind me, pulling Mom in a tight hug.
"You called Leo." Mom glared at her.
She grinned, "Jeff called his best buddy, I called mine. We never planned it."
"Of course you didn't," Mom rolled her eyes.
Both women walked towards the kitchen and I watched as Mom quietly passed Dad's chair. His back was facing away from her, and he momentarily glanced at them before turning back to the TV.
Suddenly, he snapped his head back towards the kitchen as though he noticed her now. He raised a brow at Uncle Jeff. "The more the merrier," he smiled while handing a glass of water to Dad and the watermelon juice to me.
It had been a couple of days since Mom stayed over at our place. She did come home many times after that and Dad never even hesitated to touch her. His hand would either rest on her back, her hand, or her butt. They were the most insane lovers that I'd ever seen.
The doorbell went off again and I rushed over to answer it.
Danny used to meet me every day at the company. We'd either talk in my cubicle where he sneaked multiple kisses in return for the lovely food he made for me. He was too obsessed with feeding me and I'd blush whenever he did it with his hands.
"I want to spoil you, Sunshine." He'd kiss my nose, never failing to fill me with butterflies.
Danny beamed upon seeing me. He pulled me in a bear hug and I giggled as he kissed the side of my face.
