I pulled over in front of Chelsea's studio and glanced at the bouquet of roses in the seat next to mine.
It was Jeffrey's idea to start with flowers. I told him that Chelsea was the kind who preferred diamonds over flowers but he assured me that this was going to work as I had never given her flowers before. According to him, there was a first time for everything.
Whoever invented the idea of gifting women flowers was either utterly poor or his girl had been the absolute contrast to Chelsea.
I had a bad feeling about this.
Setting aside my pride, I got out of my car with the bouquet and walked over to the door where a security guard was relaxing. He grew startled when he saw me, "Er... Mr.Xander... I can't let you inside."
"Ah... Must be her orders, I'll deal with it later-" I was about to push past the revolving doors when he blocked my way.
"Please, I can't lose this job!"
"Even if you lose the one here, I'll give you another one at my company with a better salary."
He gasped and pondered over it for a while, "Uh... No... I'm fine here... I just can't let you inside."
I glared at him. What the hell had Chelsea done to the guy?
"Fine. Fetch her then."
He gulped, then hurried into the building. A while later, Patty came outside, followed by the security guard. She was panicking more than him.
"Where's Chelsea?"
"Um... She's busy."
I raised a brow. "I'm bringing her flowers for the first time and she can't even come out here to get them? Is filling canvases with paint more important for her?"
Patty and the security guard shared a look. "Chelsea has been in a terrible mood since yesterday... She said that she'll set the whole building on fire if we let you inside. Please, Mr.Xander, it's better if you leave."
I sighed and handed the bouquet to her, "Give this to her and tell her that I'm sorry."
The woman stared at me with a gaping mouth, "I b-beg your pardon?"
"Tell her that I'm dying to make things right."
Patty gave me a weak smile before hurrying inside. I walked over to my car and leaned against the door. Chelsea always worked on the top floor, and I stared at her tinted windows.
In a couple of minutes, the windows flung open. The most beautiful woman in the world was staring at me, her eyes wild with rage, but I couldn't help smiling at her. The bouquet of roses was in her hand as she turned to the people inside and yelled for linseed oil. Chelsea had once told me that they used that thing to mix paint or whatever.
But I could tell what was coming when she asked for a lighter.
Chelsea poured the oil all over the bouquet and used the lighter to burn the whole thing.
She threw it towards me.
The burning bouquet of roses fell a few feet before my car.
Chelsea slammed the windows shut.
"Holy shit..." The security guard gasped and ran over to extinguish the possible fire on the sidewalk.
For some insane reason, my heart was racing at everything she had done and there was a twitch in my pants. Fuck, how could a woman appear as hot as her under such circumstances?

"She burned them?"
I hummed and spun the cup of coffee in my hand.
