"I just wanna live in this moment forever
'Cause I'm afraid that living couldn't gеt any better
Started giving up on thе word "forever"
Until you gave up heaven so we could be together"***
Around the evening, Jay came into my cubicle and said that Dad had asked to meet me. Nodding, I headed over to his room.
"Come here," he beckoned.
"Is something wrong...?" I mumbled, seeing that he was tense.
"There are rumors, Lucy." He deadpanned, "Rumors that you're pregnant. Jay told me. People here are talking about it."
I stiffened, "H-how... I... I never told anyone..."
"Your bump is getting bigger, Cupcake," he gave me a weak smile.
On instinct, I pulled my blazer tightly around me, "It doesn't show that much..."
"Lucy, it's been nine weeks and you're carrying triplets. Judging from all the research and shit that everyone around you has done, your bump is going to obviously grow thrice as big as the normal size."
I frowned and looked away, "I look fat..."
"Yeah, but it can't be helped. For now, I've told Jay to warn the employees that I'll deal with them personally if this gets out of hand. But people can't shut up permanently... Neither can you stop the bump from growing."
"Do you want me to not come to work anymore?" My eyes were beginning to get moist.
This felt like that terrible time in high school when the other kids kept picking on me. The rumors were horrid and I still remembered returning home and crying all evening. Mom and Dad never knew anything about it, but from the little pieces that my parents had connected, they had realized that I was getting bullied. This only made Dad send Jay every day to pick me up in a limo.
It didn't help at all.
"No, Lucy. I want you to be here for as long as you can but I just wanted to give you a heads up. If anyone ever approaches you personally, you must tell me, alright?"
I nodded.
If the rumors continued, it would be a matter of time until the paparazzi caught wind of this.

Calling Danny to listen to his soft voice helped me ease up a lot. Dad had banned him from coming over as it was pretty obvious that he found out about the night of the gala. Danny was still adamant that it wouldn't change our relationship.
Honestly, I didn't even know what sort of relationship we were sharing.
My insecurities were getting the better of me but he assured me that I didn't look fat. In fact, he loved the fact that I was beginning to look like a marshmallow. He could be so annoying sometimes.
After that night of the gala, we had grown a lot closer.
All the sensual touching and glances that Danny had given me that night had been too much. His fingers kept sending jolts of electricity through me and watching him shirtless with his beautiful spiky hair was a huge turn on.
We weren't even drunk to have made love so brutally. But at that moment, I felt hot all over. The only thing I wanted was to feel him inside me again.
And god damn, did he feel good. He felt amazing.
While staring at the cloudless night sky I was already blushing. The full moon was high and I could hear Dad making calls downstairs.
Even though Dad had banned Danny from coming here, surprisingly Mom was visiting again. They seemed to have agreed on some silent truce where they weren't shouting at each other anymore. Mom came over many times a week and left without staying the night. It did surprise me that she wasn't getting all mushy with Dad. He didn't seem to care much either.
