"We're falling apart, still we hold together
We've passed the end, so we chase forever
'Cause this is all we know
This feeling's all we know"

Chelsea indeed looked like a full-course meal tonight.

All the glances she received, the attention, men never wasting a chance to converse with her... She loved it all.

It had always been this way whenever I took Chelsea to functions with me. She'd end up being the center of attention, of course, she was my wife. She had to be the best.

But now, watching her get cozy with those filthy old fools... I hated it.

It wasn't jealousy. I wouldn't mind if it had been someone better than myself. Someone who'd want her character more than her body but that someone never appeared tonight.

I had never meant to call her a whore.

After Lucy was born, she's never looked at any man the way she's looked at me. Even if she behaved like a spoilt little slut in my presence, that was it. She always held her head high as the wife of Leonardo Xander with nothing but respect showered her way.

It might have been her way of making up for her past mistake, but even though small, it still scarred our lives for the worse.

Now she was there, twirling her glass while walking near the curtains alone.

I looked around for Lucy. She was already eating with the rascal who couldn't take his eyes off her. Danny's eyes weren't pooling with lust unlike those of every other man I'd introduced my daughter to. In fact, he looked at her with fondness. Like he'd never be able to look away from her again.

Maybe that was enough confirmation for me as a father.

But that still didn't invite him into my good books.

Even though he was still my right-hand man, he was also the rascal who impregnated my daughter.

My gaze fell back on the gorgeous woman with the wine glass and I found myself walking over. I'd hit the jackpot if we go home together.

"Ahem."

She turned around in surprise, her eyes momentarily grazing me from head to toe until she scowled, "Desperate for a fuck?"

"Aren't you? No one will know if we step behind those curtains and-"

"Stop Leo. I'm not in the mood for this," she hissed.

"Do you hate me now?" I took a step toward her, and she gave me a side eye without answering.

"It's an easy question," I repeated.

"Do you, Mr.Xander?" She raised a brow, "Oh, I'm sorry. That's an easy question too. I forgot that you called me a whore, divorced me yet came over just to fuck. Finally, you toyed with me and threw me away when you got bored."

I smiled and brought my hand to her face, holding her chin firmly, "There may be many things that I hate about you but no, I don't hate you."

"Player," she grumbled and pulled away from my touch, "People are watching us, you know."

"I'm well aware. It's me who's hosting this event." I glanced at all the petty faces looking our way. There wouldn't be one person who didn't know that we were divorced by now. But did I care?

"I don't want to keep fighting you, Chelsea. We can't keep doing this forever."

"We can actually," she mumbled, "I might move to UAE. Mr.Rafeal has offered a job in his studio there."
