Belly

"The buyers made an offer on the house, and I've officially accepted it. The house is sold." Julia says "It's sold? You-you sold this house in the last 12 hours? " Conrad asks. "Yes. To a-a lovely family with three children and some kind of a poodle mix." Julia answers. "Well, it can't just be over." Jeremiah says "It is. Uh, I'm gonna need your keys, please." Julia says holding her hand out. "I'll bet you're really enjoying this," Conrad says taking his keys out.  "Mom, don't do this," Skye speaks up as the brothers hand over their keys. "Skye, really?" Julia says to her kid before turning back to the group of teenagers that aren't hers. "I told you two that I was selling the house. You just refused to believe it. And I'm not enjoying it, but I will admit that I'm relieved it's finally over. Come on, Skye." Aunt Julia says.  "Excuse me," Julia says as she walks in between the two brothers. "Mom..." Skye says following after their mom.

Cassie looks down at her phone to see her dad's texts. She walks away from the group and Belly notices causing her to follow after Cassie.  "are you okay" Belly asks putting her hand on the girl's shoulder. "yeah, why wouldn't I be" Cassie says looking at the girl.  "Cassie, we just lost the summer house, the very same house that you and Conrad had planned to move into," Belly says. "You don't have to pretend to be okay. Cassie this is a lot to take in and you have every right to break down into tears if that's what you want to do right now" Belly says. Cassie looks at the girl, Belly notices her eyes watering and brings the girl into a hug. "It's okay" Belly whispers rubbing the girl's back.

The hug is disrupted by Cassie's phone ringing. Cassie wipes her eyes before answering the phone. "Hi Daddy," Cassie says as she answers the phone. "Hi Cas, we were able to book a hotel and we should be arriving in 20 minutes. Any updates" Daveed says. "the house was sold" Cassie tells him. "oh, um what are you guys going to do" Daveed questions. "we don't know" Cassie says "Okay, I'll take to you later okay" Daveed tells his daughter. "okay, bye" Cassie says. "Bye," Daveed says hanging up. "you wanna go back or just stay here for a minute," Belly asks the girl. grabbing her hand. "we can go back" Cassie says. "Okay," Belly says walking back towards the house and pulling Cassie along.

"where were you guys," Jeremiah asks. "not that far" Belly answers as the two of them enter the house. "what were you guys doing," Steven asks. "my dad called" Cassie answers as she lets Belly drag her around by their joint hands. Belly sits on the counter and Cassie just stands in front of her Belly rests her head on Cassie's shoulder and wraps her arms around her waist.

"So, I know things aren't going so great right now, but it's always the darkest before the dawn, right?" Jeremiah says. "Yeah, not this time," Conrad says. "Um... I'm-I'm sorry. I-I tried to get her to call off the deal." Skye says entering the house. "It's not on you, Skye," Conrad tells them. "I know, but she's my mom, so I would get it if you guys were angry with me, too. I just can't deal with her right now." Skye says "Hey, no one's mad at you, Skye." Jeremiah says hugging them. "So, what? We're supposed to go home now?" Steven questions. "Yeah. It's over." Conrad answers. "No. Our-our last memory here can't be this. Everyone all miserable and defeated. I mean, this place deserves a better goodbye than that." Belly speaks up causing everyone to face the girl. "Like what?" Conrad asks.

"My mom came to the beach house with Susannah for the first time after her dad died. And it was supposed to be just the two of them, but Susannah hated how empty the house felt, so she decided to throw a huge party. Everyone was dancing and drinking, and they went swimming at midnight. And Susannah said it was like Gatsby or something." Belly says and Conrad smiles a little. "So I say that we throw a party, too," Belly says.

"I'm in." Jeremiah says "Me, too." Taylor agrees. "Me three." Skye says raising their hand "Oh, I love this for us." Cam says and laughter courses through the room. "You in?" Steven asks Conrad. "I think it's exactly what my mom would have wanted. She'd love it." Conrad says. "are we going to ignore the elephant in the room," Cassie says. "which is," Steven asks and Cassie looks at the boy, causing him to make realize what she was talking about. "I mean as long as ur not drinking or smoking you should be good," Cam says and Cassie nods at the boy. "okay, I guess I'm in," Cassie says and Belly smiles. "Great. Okay. Everybody, shower, power nap, and then I'm putting you to work. "Belly says hopping off the counter. "Okay," Taylor says and everyone walks out of the room except for Steven and Conrad.
