(chapter 6 The talk)

"Sam.....we need to talk" Dr Raynor said.

Sam's heart was beating quickly now, nervous where this was going. He looked back down at the file for a second, wondering what could possibly be in the file about bucky. He then looked back up to Raynor. He could see she was nervous to but why? Sam didn't understand what was going on. "I don't understand doc....why-why does this have Bucky's name on it" Sam said. She fixed her gaze back to the file again, trying to think of words and things to start with so Sam could understand what was going on. She knew he was awfully confused at the moment and needed answers so she thought quick. She looked back up to Sam. "So......I know this is... confusing, maybe even concerning, but I need you to take a breath for me, and promise me that whatever you do, you will be good to James" she said lowly so bucky couldn't hear it. Sam didn't know what to say, his heart almost went in his throat. He wasn't sure what was going on but he knew something was going on with bucky and he had to know now, he didn't want to wait around, he cared too much for bucky. Sam held his eyes on her for a moment, thinking of all the bad things that might happen right now. "Y-yeah...of course, I always have" Sam said just as lowly as she did. She gave him a little smile and nodded her head, happy that he was good with bucky and cared for him.

She brought her hand up and tapped the file. She looked up at him as he did her, knowing how worried he was getting by the moments that were passing. She looked over her shoulder out into the living room where bucky was located at as he comfortably sat on the couch watching 'Geostorm' he actually looked like he belonged here in a way, the way he looked as he sat there made her almost smile wildly. She knew how bucky felt, even if he never said anything about how comfortable he was when he went to Sam's she could tell how at home he felt, she could see it right through him. She looked back over towards Sam who actually was looking back at bucky for a minute before turning and looking at her. She tapped the file once again. "This, this is important, very important. I need you to keep it and understand that he can't help what he goes through" she started. Sam's eyes widened a bit from what she was saying. He was scared, scared what on earth was in this file that had to do with bucky. His breathing got just slightly tougher. "James-...Sam James is doing the best he can to be here today. He's been through hell and back, but the one thing I beg you is to please,...for the love of God don't stop talking to him. Sam, he adores you, I can see it right through him" she said, still keeping her voice low. She knew something between them two was strong, they both had a strong connection and it melted her heart. They way Sam looked at bucky when they were outside, she has never seen someone do that to bucky except Sam. The way Sam held bucky in his arms like he would turn into a ghost really showed that they liked each other.

Even the way bucky held Sam was something she hadn't seen either, it was kind hearted and gentle, no pulling each other into their arms roughly because they missed each other so much, it was filled with pure love and longing. Bucky was good at hiding his feelings sometimes, but man when it came to Sam, he couldn't hide them at all. Sam was shocked at what she said. It made his stomach do a flip. He was happy he made bucky feel that way, but what she said when 'james is doing the best he can to be here today' made his heart sink. He knew bucky went through hell and back but was bucky struggling and Sam just never really noticed? Sam grew worried once again. "Doc, you don't have to tell me twice. I've been friends with bucky for a long, long time now, I wouldn't just stop talking to him, that's not how I am. He's a good friend to me" Sam said. He knew that wasn't true though, he wasn't just a friend to him, he felt closer than that, closer than a brother. He of course liked guys before, but he also has liked girls too. Maybe has bi...Sam wasn't sure.

Raynor smiled at what Sam had just said. It made her happy that Sam was as kind as he was. She was glad that bucky was most likely going to stay here. "Good, I'm glad....now....." She said, pointing her finger at the file in front of him and her. Sam looked down at it. She knew that Sam was going to be great with bucky, knowing that bucky was going to be happy with Sam. She could just picture it in her head, seeing them in a few weeks from now laughing with each other and having drinks together. She wanted that so desperately for bucky right now. She didn't want to see bucky in anymore pain, he's been through enough shit in his life. "I want you to open this....... again, it's important" she said.
