Present Day
"This is the final boarding call for flight JB2303 to The Cape... Please proceed to gate A4..."
Between the hurrying and bustling in the crowded airport, the announcements for departures or the dissonant afrocentric music being played by the natives, Yandi didn't know what she had to get over first. All she knew was that her vacation hit the ground running.
After a few minutes of searching, she finally spotted a man holding up a sign for Fiesta Hotel, the accommodation she had booked for her stay in Accra.
"Hello, Yandi Tembo. I booked for stay at this hotel," she gave a polite smile to the man, who thankfully returned it.
"Ah, yes!" His thick native accent shone through his bright smile. He then turned round and made a loud whistle which took Yandi by surprise, "Bonnie!"Bonnie, came hurriedly to where they stood, welcoming Yandi and ushering her to the SUV outside the airport.
"I'm Bonnie, nice to meet you. We are waiting for a few more arrivals listed for the hotel so-" Bonnie took out a clipboard for Yandi to write in, " please fill in a few details for your travel and stay. You can complete it whilst seated in the vehicle. And thank you for choosing Fiesta!"
Yandi obliged, entering what looked like a sprinter where other tourists sat, awaiting departure.
This was definitely a new experience- obviously because she had never been to the place , but also because she finally had the balls to travel solo. The vibe was different, new, nice. She liked it.Minutes passed and more people entered the sprinter. Just then, a group of men walked in; tall, melanated, young and vibrant looking men. Yandi was the kind to be composed, but she couldn't seem to take her eyes off of them, especially one that looked all too familiar.
The attendant finally walked in just as the men looked for seats, the familiar face catching sight of Yandi.
After introductions and housekeeping from the attendant the journey to Fiesta began.
It was a fairly short drive and before they knew it, they were checking into the hotel. It was around sunset when Yandi had finally settled in, planning an outfit for the evening. She heard of a fancy restaurant near the hotel and wanted to check it out, maybe take a few snaps for social media. Yandi didn't have a huge following but she really didn't care, it was for memory's sake.
"Hmm, not bad," she smiled at her reflection in the mirror, clad in a black long sleeve dress with an open back that had a very low cut.
To match she wore black YSL open toe strap heels and gold accessories. The look was giving. This vacation was going to be one she didn't want to forget; the 'what happens in Accra stays in Accra' kind. This look was just the starter.
She didn't put much makeup, but a red lip was enough to seal the deal. With one last look in the mirror, a bit of fluffing her curly hair here and there and an air kiss, she was out her room and into the hotel lobby.
To say eyes were on her was an understatement. She caught a few men shamelessly eying her, licking their lips as they took in her movements.
Yandi was only in her mid thirties but didn't look a day past twenty six at best. She had a plump figure, curvy in the right places with a fupa to add on. This wasn't a problem for her, she loved her body in all its glory.
At the front desk she met with Bonnie, who was just about to leave for an errand.
"Oh, you look lovely!" She beamed. " I believe you're here to get your ride to Kojo ?"
" Thank you, and yes. Is there a cab?" Yandi inquired.
"Of course,"
