It had been close to a week since Saturday's date.

Yandi had woken up; already dreading yet another day of work. She got dressed regardless, sliding into a pair of black pants and a white halter top. She matched this with black heels and a black purse.

Despite it being a Friday, she had a court hearing and needed to dress accordingly, which was no fun for her.

Her day felt dull, as did every other day that week. She got the first half of the day done and decided to excuse herself for the rest of the day with all its afternoon activities.

She got in her car and let out a heavy sigh. Grabbing her phone, she tapped the screen a few times and brought the phone to her ear.

"Hey mommy," she said softly.
"Hey sweetheart! Your father and I haven't heard from you since you got back. How have you been?" her mother cheered.

"Yeah... I've been swamped with work and it's been draining. You know how it goes with Minchin Brown," she rubbed the side of her forehead whilst leaning on the car window.
"Oh sweetheart, we are proud of you still. And if you need anything, we are always here as your parents. We love you so much," her mother reassured.

"It means a lot, mommy. How are you? I really just wanted to hear your voice."

"Oh, I've been fine! I have your father here to keep me company. You know that you and your siblings leaving the house has given your father and I all the freedom we need," Her mother laughed.
"Yeah and I bet y'all are using it to the maximum," she remarked.
"Ahh you know! Zandi brought Tamika and Tamara over two weeks ago, and between you and me, I entertained them for as long as I could but I couldn't wait to be alone with my husband!" Yandi's mum said, bursting into laughter.

"Not you trying to get rid of my princesses, mommy!" Yandi giggled.
"Please you had to be there. They've reached the annoying stage. But I love them to bits, I really do," her mother sighed. "Because they remind me of how I raised you and Zandile."
"Oh definitely!" Yandi giggled.

After a while, their call ended and Yandi felt much better. She never disclosed to her mother that she had a thing going on with Omari because she just wasn't ready for the feedback she'd get, that's why she easily blamed it on Minchin. After all, it was true to some extent.

She turned the ignition of her car on, and it purred to life. With a bit of Burna Boy playing, the mood was set for her drive and she was on her way.

Before heading home, she figured she'd make a pit stop at a liquor store to get some wine for when she got home. Maybe set up her outdoor projector and screen and watch a movie for the night.

While there she noticed a familiar face but decided to pretend she didn't see them.
That was until she made a turn and they both stopped in their tracks at the sight of each other.

"Hey... Yandi, right?"
"Yeah. Hi," she made a small wave with a forced smile.
"You probably forgot me-"
"No, no I didn't. Sean, I remember,"she said softly.
"Who would've thought I'd see you here  after Accra," he said with a smile.
"World's a village,"  she joked.
"A village you mean," he pointed out.
"Yeah," she giggled.

"So what are you doing tonight? I see you have wine in hand," he asked.
"Just going to use it for some cooking," she lied.

She did not want him to know she'd be getting drunk that night, he'd obviously want to try squeeze himself in her program.

"Oh nice, excellent pick. So I have a question Miss, Miss?" He arched a brow and she nodded.
"Miss Yandi, I would like to take you out sometime if you're down?" He gave a dashing smile. " I did propose it when we first met."
"Sean, you seem like a really nice guy. I have to pass on your request though. But thank you," she smiled.
"No pressure," he nodded.
