Days flew by and Thursday arrived. Omari parked his car outside Yandi's house that evening, stepping out and making his way to the door.

He felt his phone ringing in his pocket as he reached for the doorknob, answering the call as he walking into the house. Yandi was in the dining room, a large box on the table as she packed some porcelain dishes into it. She acknowledged him, waiting for him to finish with his phone call before speaking to him.

"Yikes," he chuckled after ending the call, looking down at his phone for a moment and typing briefly.

"One of your big clients?" she asked with a chuckle, stacking more plates and loading them into another box.

"Yeah, she's a consultant for a company we're working with at the moment. You know I sent her my work on like Tuesday and she sent it back earlier today asking me to re- do the work?"

"Wait, you mean the ten page draft you were doing on Tuesday?" Yandi gaped.

"Bruh!" Omari groaned, "On some 'I don't think this aligns with what our clients want, have a fresh one done by tomorrow EOD', " Omari mimicked her, a terrible impression at that.

"Omari," Yandi chuckled.

"Such a bore, even making me forget to greet my lady," he shook his head, walking up to Yandi and pulling her into a hug. "Hey, mama. Gimme a kiss."

"You good?" he asked, receiving a nod from Yandi.

"I'm good, my baby," she smiled up at him, rubbing his freshly trimmed goatee. He hummed, clearly enjoying it. "Are you good?"

"I am fantastic now that I've seen you. Calling me your baby and shit, I see you," he tucked his bottom lip between his teeth, looking at her from low lids. "Why are you smiling?"

"Because you look handsome," she cheesed.

"I know, baby. Trying to stay fresh at all times," he said comically, and that's when Yandi knew to move away.

He burst out laughing , following her into the kitchen and wrapping his arms round her waist from behind her.

"You not done packing?" he asked, waddling with her as she grabbed a large pot from the island and making her way back to the dining table.

"No, my mum asked for a few more things so I ended up buying after work," she answered, grabbing bubble wrap.

Yandi was getting ready to visit her parents and siblings and wanted to get her parents some gifts. Her mother obviously wanted some kitchenware, and had even sent a list of a few things she wanted, Yandi offered anyway so she didn't mind spending on her mother.

Omari was aware of her traveling to see her parents for the weekend, and even though they were now a couple, they both knew it was still too soon to break it to their parents of their relationship. But nonetheless, Omari was glad that Yandi was traveling, even if it wasn't with him.

"You sure you don't want me to come with?" he joked, walking round the table and standing opposite her.

"Omari please," she rolled her eyes, securing the pot lid in bubble wrap.

"I'm sure Aunt Jackie would love the fact that I'll be her son in-law," he replied cockily.

"You are so dramatic," she laughed. "Stop talking and help me close this box."

"Should we order takeout?" Omari asked as they walked back in the house from loading the boxes in Yandi's car which was in the garage.
"Nando's please," she cheesed, lacing her hand in his.
"You're so cute," he laughed, wrapping his arm round her shoulder. "Nando's it is."
