"Hm, girl I don't know... hot pink or this—powder pink?" Laurie held up two boards for Yandi to help choose.

"Powder pink is good. You don't want something too loud if you want to add other stuff on it," she advised.
"You're right. I can just put white and hot pink balloons on top and it will look pretty yet elegant. You're so right," Laurie nodded, getting an even bigger powder pink board and placing it in the large trolley.

They were currently looking for supplies for a backdrop because Laurie wanted to make a special one for her daughter Hadassah's fifth birthday. They had a week and a half to prepare and Amir would be piecing it all together, but they just needed a few things to help them get started.

As they walked through aisles, Yandi stopped to admire a few household items and cute decorations.

"These look nice," she remarked picking a minimalist photo frame.
"Girl I can't wait for you to have those cute family photo frame things of you and some hunky husband with three kids and a golden retriever on the side," Laurie said dreamily. "Whatever happened to the dude from Accra?
Not once did you mention a development since you returned," she frowned.

"Well..." Yandi bit her lip.
"Please don't tell me you kicked him to the curb," Laurie deadpanned.
"Girl, we are here for Hadassah, not my twisted love life," Yandi swatted at Laurie and walked off.

"Yandi," she dragged behind, wailing at her.
"Laurie, quit being so dramatic," Yandi giggled.
"Uh uh, girl. You have been ducking and dodging this since you got back. Like I gave a damn about the food you had in Accra," Laurie fussed.

"Was it his weiner?" Yandi coughed at the question, "Girl I'm just asking! Also if it was just know that size does not equate enjoyment. He probably got really excited yet his lil friend didn't rise to the occasion. Girl some men just don't have that... motion in the ocean..." Laurie ranted.

Yandi's hand was clutched to her chest the entire time as Laurie walked next to her, clearly shocked by the remarks.

Father God if she knew the ocean I'm motioning in, Yandi thought. She couldn't believe after literally overthinking the situation it would suddenly come to life. This was not part of the thought process!

Eventually Laurie changed topic, convinced that she couldn't get the tea out of Yandi just yet.
They had finally purchased all the necessary materials and saved the rest for when Amir wanted to add on.

Friday finally arrived, and Yandi could not wait to go to wherever it was Omari had planned for them.

"For you, Ms Tembo," Lindi placed a file on her table.
"Thank you," she smiled, getting some work done on her laptop.

Yandi was truly mindless to all the activities for the day. She already knew she wouldn't make it to the afternoon development meeting, that would have to sort itself out.

Her phone rang and she picked it up almost immediately.

"Yandi speaking," she chimed, already knowing how much it annoyed Omari.
And sure enough, he grunted in response, causing her to burst into laughter.

"You just never cease to put your boy through it, huh?"
"Nope," she replied, popping the P.
"Get out," Omari sucked his teeth. "In fact, pack your bags- are your bags packed?"
"My bags been packed. I'm actually on my way home now," she smiled.
"Ayy, that's my girl," he hyped. "I'll pick you up in 30 then. Dress in something comfy, yeah?"
"Sure,"
"But make it sexy too," she just knew he was smirking as he said that.
"Omari, goodbye," she chuckled.

Yandi had her travel bag packed and her house in order for when she'd return.
She was dressed in cream sweat shorts paired with a white tank top and nike dunks to match. She added a matching sweatshirt over her shoulders plus a pair of shades. Her afro was out in all its glory, combed back and flowing past her shoulders. To style it she had her shades over her head, giving it an edgy look.
