Days later...

"Mari!" Laurie yelled.
"What?" He said from the door of the garage, clearly annoyed by how loud she could be when he was literally behind her.
"Is this too much for you? You know can leave? I can just work by myself," She grunted.
"Don't lie," Amir teased, walking in on the two of them, "You need our help, baby," he kissed her cheek and signaled to Omari to walk over to his side of the garage.

They were currently organizing the backdrop and other arrangements for Hadassah's birthday party, which was a day away. Fortunately for them, this year's birthday was on a Saturday, which was perfect for everyone to wish her happy birthday and it actually being on the same day.

Laurie was the perfectionist in the family, and sometimes she got a little too frustrated when organizing events. Which explained why she was throwing hands at Omari for absolutely no reason.

As the day progressed Mrs Saidi came over to see her daughter and hopefully give a hand with the preparations, seeing that she was having a hard time and not handling it all too well.

"Ayy, moms is here," Omari hyped from the front door, watching her sashay to the door. "Hey, welcome,"he gave her a hug.
"You look too happy, something's wrong," she squinted at him, then burst out laughing.
"Your daughter, momma... your daughter," he sighed comically.
"Move," she pushed his large frame aside and laughed, dropping her bag off in the living room before making her way to the garage.

He overheard everyone talking from the garage as he mindlessly scrolled through his phone by the door.

"I called Yandi, its okay. I had asked her to buy more cloth for the tables so she's bringing them," Laurie explained to their mother.

Omari perked up at this information. He then walked to the entrance an noticed Yandi pulling up to the driveway.

She stepped out and Omari was instantly in awe. Yandi had on black dress pants and a grey sweatshirt over white trainers, her hair in a tight ponytail with her signature shades over her head. She looked classy yet casual all in one.

"Hey!" Yandi said with a surprised look on her face.
"Hey, mami," Omari greeted with a smirk, rubbing his hands together as she walked up to the door.
"Omari," she stopped him, still maintaining a smile. "We're at your sister's, alright?" She had to remind him even though he literally knew their stance.
"Alright," he smacked his lips.
"Cool. Now may I pass, please?" She giggled.
"Let me get those for you," he leaned over to reach for the paper bag in her hand, managing to steal a kiss from her.

She gaped, fighting back the smile on her face as he moved away, giving her access to the house.

"Yandi hi!" Mrs Saidi greeted.
"Aunty Ohanna, hey! Laurie told me what happened with the shortage," Yandi grinned, glancing over to Omari who was clearly enjoying her little moment of regaining composed.

After their kiss she had to try looking calm and unbothered. They both knew the complexity of their relationship meant they had to be somewhat discreet especially now that they were around his family- Laurie mostly. But Omari being Omari, he obviously preferred to live dangerously.

"Oh thats fine, you're such a sweetheart. How are you?" Mrs Saidi asked, embracing her.
"I'm well thank you, how are you?"
"I'm blessed, my sweetheart. How is family? I've been meaning to visit your mother," Mrs Saidi smiled, being very soft spoken.
"They're all good. And my mother is fine, I'm sure the move is still taking a toll on you?" Yandi giggled.
"I miss Jackie so much I should probably visit her after Hadassah's birthday!" Mrs Saidi chuckled.

"Hello?! We have a birthday to organise?" Laurie sassed, walking in on the three in the doorway.

They all moved to the backyard where Amir had already set up the backdrop and had little tables awaiting their decorations.
