"Counsel Thembo!" Yandi turned to where her name was being called.
"Ayy, Counsel Mbeki— okay stop," she burst into laughter, embracing her colleague and friend, Bisa Mbeki.Yandi and Bisa were quite close since they both studied law together with Laurie. They took on the same interests and also worked at the same law firm when they had just graduated. Bisa was like family to the Tembo family, even until her move to a different district when she got married.
"Hey sweetie, its been for-eva!" Bisa squealed.
"I know, when did you come back?" Yandi asked.
"Oh I'm not here permanently I just had a court appearance here. I also thought its a good thing because I get to see old faces," she explained.
"Awww! Have you met Laurie yet? She'd be so happy to see you," Yandi asked, walking with Bisa out the courthouse and to the parking lot."No, I haven't. But I will be leaving in a few days so we can definitely hang out." Bisa cheesed.
"I love that. Where are you headed to now?"
"Oh, I have my cousin that has a spot on the way out of town. He travels a lot so I'm just crashing there until he returns," Bisa explained, stopping at Yandi's car.
"Oh okay. Well I need to get back to the office but it was so good to see you babes. We'll communicate later if you have no plans, yeah?" Yandi embraced her one last time.
"Of course sweetie! Later!"Yandi drove back to work, walking through to the basement parking elevator as she usually did.
She looked at her reflection and smiled; she went for an all black suit that hugged her figure really well, rhinestone studded heels to match and her hair that was now wavy from her recent silk press. She adjusted the collar of the blazer, making sure her bralette underneath was not as visible.
The elevator pinged and the doors opened, and she sashayed to her office, stopping by Lindi's desk to get any messages.By 5 in the evening, Yandi was already making her way home, receiving a call from Omari.
"Yandi speaking," she chimed, putting him on loudspeaker.
"Wassup, mami," he gave a loud sigh of defeat.
"I'm good," she purred.
"I can tell. You sound sexy too,"
"Definitely," she smirked, though he couldn't see it.
"Love a confident lady. Heading home?" He asked.
"Yeah. Do you... want to see me?"
"Always, baby. How about you make a detour to my place, I'll organize something for us, yeah?"He offered.
"Mari, you want me to move in with you ?" She giggled.
"Never that. Although it would be nice... really nice," he said deeply."Well, I'm not ready for the move—"
"I know. But just come through, I have plans," he insisted.
"Okay, stuck in traffic though," Yandi said.
"It's cool. It'll buy me some time anyways," he joked. "We'll talk later, babe."The call ended, and as usual, Yandi was looking forward to seeing Omari.
She finally got to his penthouse, exiting the elevator and making her way to his front door.
The door swung open and Omari stood there still in his work clothes. His powder blue dress shirt sleeves were rolled up to his elbows and he had the first few buttons unbuttoned, revealing his sculpted chest.
