Yandi managed to get her consultation done in an hour, writing a few notes in her diary for her next consultation.

She hated that she still loved what she did despite what happened at work. And with the time she spent away, she was seriously considering starting her own practice. The urge was getting stronger, and she was confident it would work out since it would be on her terms.

As she closed up her diary to respond to some emails, her phone rang. It was Laurie requesting to FaceTime.

She tried not to panic, since she wasn't home and especially after the time she had called Omari while they were together.

"Hey girl," she said with a smile.
"Oh hey. Um, you left some things at mines from Hadassah's birthday. I just realized last night," she replied nonchalantly, turning the screen to the bowls on her kitchen counter.
"Oh, the Tupperwares? I didn't even realize they were gone," Yandi laughed lightly, "I can pass by to get them yeah?"
"You can. How does later today sound?" She asked.
"Its fine girl. Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm just really tired. Work has my hands tied," she sighed.
"Laurie, please. Is it something that happened that's making you feel this way?"

Laurie chuckled, "Girl, I am dog tired. Just come get your things, okay?"
"You know I'd not let this slide, Laurie. Especially if you're FaceTiming me with something that could have been via text," Yandi raised a brow.
"Yandi, just come get your things. Thats all, bye," and with that Laurie ended the call.

Yandi sighed, extending her hands over the table and slumping her shoulders. She couldn't deny there was still a certain fear in her but she was firm in her relationship with Omari, she had deep feelings for him and the fear of Laurie finding out were part of what held her back from enjoying her relationship fully.

Soft jazz music began to play, a sign that Omari was about to make his appearance. She had let him get ready and do his morning routine while she focused on the order of her day, so it was clear he was done getting ready for his day.

He walked into the living room space, looking delicious as ever in a fitted white t-shirt and straight leg jeans paired with grey Nike dunks.. She smiled for a moment watching him caught up in adjusting the band of his Apple watch.

"You done with your meeting, babe?" He asked. She hummed in response as he walked up to her, standing behind her and wrapping his arms around her shoulder and placing honeyed kisses on her earlobe. She giggled as he lowered to her neck.

"You're not feeling cold, papi?" She asked amidst her giggles.
"Kind of. I'll wear a sweater in a bit," he replied, kissing her one last time.

"Laurie called."

"Oh, what did she say?" He asked, rubbing her shoulders as he held her.
"I forgot some Tupperwares at her house from Hadassah's birthday. So I have to get them," she answered, placing her hands on his arms.
"You need me to come with you?"
"I don't know. Maybe? I don't know," she looked up at him.
"We'll go together babe. And whatever she says man, fuck it. We're in this together, yeah?"

Yandi nodded, turning back to her laptop screen.

"You done working? Can we head out now?" He moved over to the seat opposite her and leaned closer to her, "where are you taking me?" He whispered, making her laugh.

"You'll see. Just bring yourself and your phone for content," she played with his chin before tapping his nose once with her finger.
"It better be nice, my standards are really high boo," he joked. "This is a date right? Like you're taking me out on a date ?"
" You know what yes, and then after we can go to Laurie," she nodded.
