Omari arrived at Malik's apartment and headed to the rooftop where he knew they'd be chilling. As usual, Malik turned it up and had a few more people over, some by a pool table and others dancing to the loud bass music playing from the speakers.
Omari found Malik, Luca and Sean smoking hookah by a set of outdoor chairs, conversing among themselves.
"Ay, look who showed up!" Malik announced , standing to dap Omari up.
"Wassup man," he replied, walking over to Luca and Sean.
"Chillin, chillin," Malik said, blowing out the flavored smoke."Hard to see you around man, you really busy," Sean remarked.
"Yeah, heard you passed by my office too, you know I don't go there like that," Omari responded.
"Yeah but still had to try," Sean shrugged."Yeah Omari's been busy," Malik smirked.
"Stop it."Just then, Zion showed up, greeting everyone and sitting beside Omari.
"So y'all didn't bring your girls?" Malik asked, "this is literally a house party."
"Didn't want what happened the last time,". Luca raised.
"True," Zion added with a laugh, Omari laughing along with him.
"You mean cause of Simi? Oh I could handle her forreal. She's just a brat," Malik answered.
"That night was crazy," Zion shook his head."You still talk to Simi, Mari?" Sean asked.
"Nope," Omari replied, popping the P, "she's too much drama."
"You're still kicking it with Yandi, huh?"
"I am," Omari nodded.
"You asking like it's a bad thing," Luca scoffed.
"I mean when it's your sister's best friend..." Sean mumbled, sipping from his bottle of corona."Okay and?" Omari chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "Im into her, does it matter that she's friends with my sister?"
"Ay, I'm not saying it matters but..." Sean shrugged."But what?" Malik asked, "say it, man."
"Nah," Sean shook his head, stifling a laugh.
"Dude you brought it up, why you being dodgy all of a sudden?" Luca asked."Look, let's just enjoy the night. We're having fun and Sean is being a sissy," Zion spoke up, grabbing a bottle of corona from the ice bucket.
"Yeah cause Malik over here decided we party on a weekday," Omari teased.Sean glared at Omari for a moment, his eyes green with envy.
The night was going well, Malik being the good host he was, went around talking to people and being jovial.
The rest of the boys sat there conversing about anything but relationships, which was going great. At some point Omari stood up to take a call.
"Hey, baby. You good?"
"Yeah! I'm good, I just wanted to connect my phone to the speakers but you didn't put your girl on so now I'll be playing music from my headphones,"
Omari chuckled , "Sorry mama. I will definitely fix that when I come home."
"Are you having fun with your lil friends?" Yandi asked jokingly.
"Yeah we're good here. But just say the word and I'll be back there," he said with a chuckle."Aww. Its okay, papi. I'll be good, you'll find me," she replied sweetly.
"Keep that up and I'll leave right now," he smiled to himself.
"Omari, goodbye," she said sternly.
"You sure you don't want me back home?"
"You'll find me, Mari. Now go enjoy yourself there," she giggled.
"Fine. See you later, mama," he said before ending the call.He walked back and sat in his seat, the boys talking about Luca's girlfriend Lexi.
"...and she'll be graduating this year too," Luca mentioned.
"Oh word? That sounds dope, Dr Suraya-"
"Nah man, she's not changing to my surname relax," Luca chuckled.
"Okay but at least entertain the thought," Sean joked.
"Med school is tough man, if I was Lex I wouldn't change my surname either," Omari remarked, to which Sean rolled his eyes, "Plus, people probably know her better by her maiden name."
"Yeah, we haven't discussed her surname change for one , cause we're not married. And then two, I want her to do her own thing, y'know?"
"Word," Zion nodded in agreement.
