Ever since Craig first laid eyes on Y/N in high school he had a crush on her.
He never gathered the courage to ask her out and it was her that first initiated conversation. She noticed he had a Red Racer shirt on and started gushing to him about how much she loved the show.
Craig wasn't a big talker and was very quiet in general, but talking to her felt easy, comfortable, and she was the only person he could open up to.
Now, years later, they had become best friends. His crush never went away and only grew stronger. He decided a long time ago that he would never tell her because he couldn't risk losing her. If he had to remain her friend for the rest of his life he could live with that. As long as she was in his life, nothing bad would happen.
He and Y/N always watch Red Racer every Friday night together at his place. But it was starting to get late.
Craig checked his phone. He had a missed text from Y/N.
Y/N🌙: srry i cant make it to watch the new ep with u. Im still with scott
Craig🌟: np
Craig didn't approve of her dating Scott Tenorman. Not that he would approve of anyone, but Scott in particular treated Y/N like a trophy. He would always show her off and they never did anything she wanted to do.
Craig turned the TV off. He'd save the new episode to watch with her later. He sighed and laid his head in his arms on his desk, looking into Stripe's enclosure.
Y/N had bought Stripe for him for his birthday years ago, and it was love at first sight. Stripe was his second favorite person to talk to besides Y/N.
"Do you think they're fighting again?"
Stripe wrinkled his nose.
"You're right. She'll tell me all about it later."
Almost as if Stripe had predicted the future, he gets a call from Y/N.
She sounded like she'd been crying, "Craig, can you come pick me up from Scott's? Please?"
Craig had dropped her off at his house more times than he'd liked to admit and he had already grabbed his keys before she finished her sentence.
"On my way."
...
Y/N ran down the stairs of Scott's apartment as a very angry looking Scott stood in the doorway. Craig was a passive person but he could win any fight if he needed to. His fist curled at his side.
Y/N quickly fastened her seatbelt and Craig flipped him off, peeling out of the parking lot.
"Are you okay?"
"Yes. I'm fine...Scott and I broke up. I just don't feel like going home either."
Craig placed his hand over hers still keeping his other hand steady on the wheel. "I have something I want to show you."
...
He wasn't usually one for surprises and your intrigue took your mind off Scott almost immediately.
Craig knows all your deepest darkest secrets and knows every weird quirk you have and despite all of it, he is loyal to the end. What he doesn't know, is that you had fallen for him.
You notice that he isn't on the road headed to his place and instead had taken a familiar turn.
"Are we going to the Planetarium? Isn't it closed on Fridays?"
