You're sitting at a sports bar with the Denver Nuggets' newest draft pick of the season, Kyle Broflovski, for an interview.
"It says here that you grew up in the small town of," you squint at your notes, "South Park?"
"Yes ma'am. Born and raised. I've been playing basketball since elementary school."
"Amazing. And you were drafted right out of college too. Your parents must be very proud."
He smiles, "They are, my younger brother is hoping to play hockey for the Avalanches someday, he's Canadian so it came much more naturally to him."
"I see, it looks like you've worked hard to get where you are now."
"It was always my dream to play for the Nuggets and I'm excited for this coming season! I've gone through some intense training and I'm ready."
Kyle's face lit up the room despite the multiple glowing TV screens across the bar. His hair was a unique shade of red and his eyes reflected a tenacity that kept you captivated. Even outside his uniform, he couldn't hide how lean and toned he was. Out of all the players you've talked to in your time as a sports journalist, none were as attractive as him.
You know he was just putting on formalities for the interview, but seeing him smile invested in what you had to say, was enough to make your cheeks grow hot.
"And how do you respond to people saying jews can't play basketball oh my god I'm so sorry."
You scramble trying to salvage the impression you were making. "That's not my opinion! my boss, Cartman, writes some of these and I apologize I didn't catch that one."
He rolls his eyes and sighs. "It's okay I'm sure some other people have that opinion but they're wrong. I'm not the only Jewish person in history to play."
"Right, yes. Um, next question," you scroll through your notes trying hard not to embarrass yourself.
"Are you confident in your abilities as a point guard?"
"Absolutely. When I first started playing I didn't really fit in but I think I've proven myself and the game will reflect that."
You're impressed at how precisely he answers. Most athletes aren't as articulate.
"Very well put."
You lean forward a little to keep from raising the attention of the other patrons in the bar.
"The tabloids are going to start following you starting the season. Are there any misconceptions you want to settle now? Any affairs or anything otherwise classified as scandalous?"
Kyle
Kyle came into the interview confident, ready for any question, and for the most part he was doing a good job handling them.
But this journalist was absolutely beautiful. He was keeping his composure on the outside but on the inside, he was dying to know more about her.
When she leaned forward, Kyle got a good look at her cleavage and quickly looked away. He didn't want to be creepy but that brief mental snap he'd taken would be stuck in his head for hours.
"No. As for affairs, I'm not in a relationship."
As she took down his response, Kyle dared to be a little bolder, "Do you?"
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Oh, no. I haven't had the time. Besides, they get jealous when I'm always spending time with famous athletes."
