Donghyuck was so mad at himself that he couldn't even inform Donghee about his mistake. So, he just kept it a secret as he was certain Mark wouldn't spread it far either. Excluding his brother's family because Donghyuck was sure they learned about it the same day. Mark wouldn't keep such a thing a secret.

Picking up Dongchan from his own family was hard. Donghyuck was asked to stay and have dinner, but he refused, raising suspicions to Dad.

"What's more important than dinner with your old parents?"

"Home and resting time," Donghyuck replied sarcastically, then looked at his son to urge him to take all his things and get ready to leave.

Sensing the opportunity, Dad took Donghyuck to the other room and then started the monologue of how great it would be if he just got along with Haewon. He wasn't the biggest fan of this man, but Dad liked his occupation and the money he got.

"He also tries to take care of your child. He's not against Channie. Don't you think it's time you should think about a stable family?"

"I said it once, but I'm gonna say it millions of times until you understand me, Dad," Donghyuck sighed. "I'm not interested in anything romantic. I don't need a man to take care of me and my family."

"You need someone rational. Someone who could see the world of your family differently. I think Haewon is the right guy. Just look at him. He came to find you and wants to start all over again."

"No, I don't need anyone," the son said flatly. "I don't like Haewon. He's a liar. He told me he wants to be friends, but does the opposite! He indirectly told everyone at work we're dating."

"This wouldn't last long," Dad shook his head. "You have to learn from your mistakes to realize how bad your decision is. But I don't want those mistakes to hurt Dongchan."

"Me neither, that's why I don't plan to let another man in my family. That's the end of the conversation."

Donghyuck wanted to leave the room, but his dad held him up near the door again.

"You like that damn teacher, right? Dongchan told us Haewon bullies the teacher whenever he comes over on Friday. Do you pity him, and that's why you don't like Haewon? Are you taking the guardian's role again? This is not school, son!"

"If you could, you would pick on everything," Donghyuck groaned.

"Don't you see that the man who likes you and your dad goes against that teacher? Doesn't it tell you anything?"

Dad looked deeply into his son's eyes as if trying to kick some sense in his brain. But what if that sense didn't make sense to Donghyuck?

"No," he replied. "It just makes me tired."

He reached for the doorknob and this time successfully left the room. He felt like he was in the spotlight as soon as he appeared in the living room as his brothers and Mom stared at him in curiosity. Perhaps, they wondered what he and Dad talked about.

Donghyuck just told them goodbye and took Dongchan out of there. On their way home, avoiding getting himself in deep thought, Donghyuck asked whether Grandpa said something bad about Teacher Lee.

"He says it all the time," the kid replied passionately. "But I think Grandpa is mad because he's too old to be taught by Teacher Lee. He's jealous."

Donghyuck dissolved into laughter. He loved his son so much. Dongchan always made his mood better. And that only pushed Donghyuck to think he wanted him all to himself again.

The morning was rather hasty as Donghyuck couldn't get out of bed on time, on top of that, Nyx never left him, so when he did, he had to do everything in a rush. Then he felt nauseous in the middle of preparing breakfast, which had gotten worse because he was in his sixth week or so.
