Chapter 𝟰𝟲

Donghyuck didn't have anything against Dongchan stealing Mark's attention.

He really didn't, even when his son was consistently around his daddy, every darn 24 hours. They were always together, doing things together, leaving the apartment together, and it was still not enough for Dongchan! He demanded more active ways to spend his time with Mark, so just the other day, they took it as far as finding another playground, which Dongchan didn't know yet. And as the kid was done with this, he wanted to read and required Daddy to be near and correct if he was wrong.

Donghyuck didn't mind any of that, until one evening when he wanted to cuddle Mark after a hard day at work, their child got in their way as Dongchan wanted cuddles too! He got in between his parents, and put his legs on Mark's lap, while his head rested on Papa's. Looking Donghyuck in the eyes, he asked for a head massage and then shifted his eyes to Daddy. He and Mark then talked about school things, and Donghyuck admired them both. He really did, but that didn't divert his mind from something that was obviously wrong here.

For some reason, it felt like during the past few days, Dongchan learned that when Papa wasn't around, he could replace him with Mark. So, Mark became the main attention giver for the kid who was always hungry for attention. It was like Mark was the main light source, and Dongchan, being a light-driven sunflower, turned to him when he couldn't see his sun. It was like the child feared Mark would disappear. Every day, he didn't back away from Daddy as if he believed everything was temporary. Donghyuck knew—it was the negative response of the kid trying to get back what he missed during all the years he didn't see his parent, which wasn't very healthy.

Donghyuck shared his concerns with Mark later in the evening. As expected, Mark looked at it very seriously not only as a parent but also as a teacher, and the other day, as he texted his boyfriend, he spoke with their son and indirectly said some things to reduce the insecurity. It didn't help much as Dongchan remained glued to Mark, but the latter explained it as something that would go away eventually. For now, it seemed like Dongchan was too excited about Mark because he wasn't yet used to him. "Give him a month," Mark said, and Donghyuck unwillingly accepted.

But he started noticing a pattern of his moodiness when Dongchan kept interrupting his time with Mark. It wasn't an annoyance. He was upset that he couldn't spend it with his lover. They couldn't touch as they were shy Dongchan would comment something, and they could kiss only inside the bedroom, which happened rarely as Donghyuck usually fell asleep before Mark could come to bed. He continued reading fairy tales.

The worst must've been that they couldn't have sex. Donghyuck's usual Fridays with toys were long forgotten as he tasted what Mark was capable of, and now that they were living under the same roof, sex was like a forbidden word they were scared to say or even think about just because Dongchan was with them. They couldn't even think about quickies or quiet rounds because Donghyuck knew he'd moan loudly since it had been a while since he got that dick.

As if that wasn't enough, Mark didn't seem to do something about it. He was as horny as Donghyuck, but unlike the younger, he could endure it and just live without intimacy. Of course, he could. He did this all this time. Donghyuck, meanwhile, couldn't, as he was too used to weekly stimulation. That's why he kept thinking about ways to get to it, which was way harder than a day at work. He didn't want to send Dongchan to his family house for several reasons, and they all were connected to Dad. He hadn't heard anything from them since Dongmin and Dongwoo visited them, and Donghyuck feared his child would get stuck in that house if Dad found out. So, the easiest way was crossed out.

Until he heard Minju was coming over and tried to turn it the other way.

"Why don't Dongchan go and see his aunt and cousin?" Donghyuck asked positively, but Mark shook his head and soon backed it up with facts.
