Wonder Nerds vs Naxie (1/3)

In the six months since the nurses ball in May 2015 Nathan and Maxie were getting their relationship on track keeping in touch with Spinelli and Ellie to be updated on Georgie.

They also had some visits sporadically.

Maxie loved her visits with her daughter as did Nathan.

Maxie would wait by her phone for photos or calls.

On her birthday she was celebrating with Nathan when she got a phone call "Is this Maxie Jones?"

Maxie looked puzzled as she answered "Yes who is this?"

The voice on the other end was not familiar but very professional "Your daughter is in the hospital in Portland right now."

Maxie screamed out "Noooooooo what about her father?"

The voice said "This is detective Jamison your child's father is in interrogation for a possible accident."

Maxie was so very confused "What? What accident?"

The voice stated "Damien Spinelli was the reason your daughter is in the hospital."

Maxie didn't believe it at all "We were getting along again. I doubt he'd harm his own daughter."

Detective Jamison said "You and your detective boyfriend are welcome to come out here to see your child."

Maxie ended the call and shouted for Nathan.

Nathan came running out of the bedroom "What is it Maxie?"

Maxie looked at him crying "Omg Georgie was in an accident and the Portland police say Spinelli caused it."

Nathan looked puzzled "Really? I thought you two were getting along again? Would he really hurt his own daughter to get to you?"

Maxie looked at Nathan with tears welling up "I need to go to Portland to her. You should go with me. I don't think I can go by myself."

Nathan held her close "Of course I will go with you. I love you Maxie."

Maxie kissed Nathan for a moment "Thank you! I love you Nathan."

They packed a bag or two and headed on a flight to Portland.

Nathan called Dante at the airport "Hey Dante I need you to cover for me at work."

Dante "What's going on? Did something happen to Maxie?"

Nathan "No she's fine it's Georgie."

Dante "What happened?"

Nathan "A detective called from Portland and said Spinelli may be the reason she was in an accident."

Dante "Go. Go be with Maxie and Georgie. I will figure out what to tell Jordin."

Nathan "Thanks I have to hang up now we are going to take off. I will keep you updated."

Dante "Alright bye I hope everything is okay."

Nathan "Bye."

Attendant "At this time please stow all carry on items in the overhead bins or under the seat in front of you. Turn off all electronic items until the captain gives the okay to use FAA approved devices. Fasten your safety belts by inserting the the tooth into the clip low and tight. In the event of a water landing the cushion of your seat may be used as a flotation device as well as life vests in the overhead bins. In case of cabin pressure failure the bags will fall from above. Please place the bag over your mouth before assisting others keeping in mind the bag may not fully inflate. Please take a moment to locate the nearest exit keeping in mind it may be behind you.
