Nathan held Maxie a little closer until the doctor came back to check his vitals.

Doctor "You may be able to go home tomorrow. Just take it easy today and don't over stress once you get home."

Nathan "So basically my boss might have to put me on desk duty?"

Doctor "She might. Doing normal police activity may cause too much stress on your body and your heart."

Nathan "So my heart is not 100% normal?"

Doctor "Since that bullet was close I'm afraid it may have done some lasting damage."

Maxie "What about being intimate with me?"

Doctor "You will have to see how things go."

Maxie "Okay I hope he still can."

Nathan "I hope so too Maxie."

Doctor "We will play it by ear and stick with a healthy diet no fatty foods no caffeinated beverages etc."

Nathan "So I can't eat ribs?"

Doctor "I would stay away from them right now."

Nathan "Alright. No floating rib then for a while."

Maxie "Man well there's always quinoa."

Doctor "Yes that would be a healthy choice maybe with some roasted chicken."

Maxie "I don't cook but I could try. Without burning down my apartment."

Nathan "I can make food. I doubt I'm restricted from cooking."

Maxie "That might be the best choice. Since the last time I made something you almost had to call the fire department."

Nathan "It wasn't that bad."

Maxie "Yes it was. It was horrible. The whole thing wasn't even edible."

Doctor "You two can figure it out later. For now just focus on gaining strength to leave the hospital."

Maxie "How is my baby?"

Doctor "Well why don't we take another look?"

Maxie "Okay."

Doctor "Let me just use this jelly."

She moves the wand over Maxie's belly and points out the baby again to both of them.

Nathan "I still can't believe that's my baby. I'm so happy Maxie."

Maxie "So am I. I just want a happy healthy baby. Boy or girl is fine."

Nathan "I love Georgie but I want a little girl of my own too."

Maxie "Georgie loves you too."

Georgie "Nay Tuh Nay Tuh. Hug."

Nathan put his arms around her and said "You're a sweetie. Your daddy did some bad things and I hope it's okay I fill in as your daddy for a while okay?"

Georgie "Dada Nay Tuh."

Nathan smiled at the little girl and kissed Maxie on the cheek after she was done being checked out.

The next morning the doctor came in and checked out Nathan "Alright you are free to go. Looks like your sprung."

Maxie "Georgie we can finally go back home with Nathan."

Nathan "I'm so anxious. I need to get back to work."

Maxie "The streets of Port Charles need their crime fighter."

Nathan "Haha very funny."

Maxie "What? You are a cop, you fight crime, why not?"

Nathan "Lets just go."

Maxie wheels him outside and he carries Georgie on his lap.

A car picks them up and they head to the airport to go home.

As soon as they hit the gate they are stopped by a man.

Man "Don't you dare move. Hand over the girl."

Nathan "I'm not giving her to you."

Man "I have a gun. Now hand her over."

Nathan stood up and grabbed his weapon from his bag "I'm a cop now drop your weapon."

Man "Oh the PCPD is a ways away from here Mr West. It's a bit out of your jurisdiction detective."

Nathan "It may be out of mine but not his."

Just then Detective Isaiah Jamison walks up with his gun drawn "Drop your weapon Portland police."
