Wonder Nerds vs Naxie (1/3)

Untitled Part 5

Nathan held Maxie as she freaked out over Spinelli being free from jail. 

He had figured out a way to be free. 

Maxie was so nervous that Spinelli would come and hurt her Nathan or Georgie.

Nathan looked into her eyes "I promise he won't hurt any of us.  I won't let him.  Neither will Detective Jamison."

Maxie kept herself close to Nathan "I love you!   I trust you with my life.  Our lives."

"Is there something I need to know?" asked Nathan

"I'm pregnant Nathan.  I found out before I got the call to come here." exclaimed Maxie

Nathan hugged both Georgie and Maxie "I love you too.  Both of you.  All 3 of you."

The Dr walked in to check on Georgie and Maxie couldn't let go.

Dr Lynch smiled "I guess you can hold her as I check her out."

When Georgie was cleared Nathan got a call "Hi commissioner she just got cleared to leave the hospital but Spinelli is loose and the detective out here said to be careful."

Jordin "Well come back to Port Charles as soon you can Detective West."

Nathan "Yes of course."

Maxie saw someone walk into the room and gasped.

Nathan hung up his phone to see someone standing there with a gun.

The man exclaimed "I'm here to take that baby and anyone who stops me gets shot."

Maxie wouldn't let go of her daughter and the man began to pull the trigger.

Nathan jumped in front of his pregnant girlfriend and took the bullet.

Just then Detective Jamison walked in and almost got shot himself. 

He yanked the gun out of the mans hands and cuffed him "You are under arrest for the attempted murder of a New York police officer attempted kidnapping of a child reckless endangerment of a minor and assault on a cop.  You have the right to remain silent anything you say or do can or will be used against you in a court of law.  You have the right to an attorney if you cannot afford an attorney one will be appointed to you.  Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?"

The man nodded his head yes and was hauled off to be processed.

Dr Lynch checked out Nathan as Det Jamison was arresting the man while Maxie was freaking out "Nathan please be okay or I will kill you.  Wake up.  Georgie needs you I need you our baby needs you."

He was taken into surgery to remove the bullet but they had trouble. 

It was lodged an inch to the right of his heart so that freaked Maxie out even more.

Two hours went by as Maxie dealt with intense pain throughout her body when a nurse told her "We did what we could.  He is not waking up.  He is in a coma."

Maxie cried holding her daughter "No.  Tell me you're wrong.  He can't be.  I'm dreaming.  He's going to be fine."

Nurse "I'm sorry miss he's been unconscious this whole time.  It was so close to his heart they had to use the cardiac paddles three times."
