Wonder Nerds vs Naxie (1/3)

Maxie had just collapsed in the hallway of the Portland hospital and the doctor found her lying there. 

Doctor "We need a gurney.  This woman is pregnant and needs care immediately."

A nurse wheeled a cart over to Maxie and they lifted her up.

She was soon connected to a fetal heart monitor and other machines to check her pulse her blood pressure etc.

Doctor (to nurse) "She's losing oxygen.  If we don't get her pulse ox normalized her baby could die.  She could lose brain function."

Nurse "Right away doctor."

Suddenly Maxie sees a figure she recognizes.

Voice "Maxie it's not your time.  Fight."

Maxie "Georgie?  You're supposed to be in heaven.  The last time I had a vision of you I almost died giving birth."

Georgie "I know.  I came back to tell you to fight.  This baby is very important.  Your love for Nathan is very important.  Nathan's love for you is the reason I'm here.  He needs this baby more than you know.  He loves your daughter but deep down this new baby you're carrying is his legacy.  He needs you to fight for him.  His heart may be weak right now from the gunshot but he needs you to stay strong."

Maxie "How can I when I set off his alarms?  I'm the reason he is in a coma."

Georgie "When he wakes up he will need you.  He will need your love.  He will need your strength."

Maxie "Please dont go Georgie.  I need you."

Georgie "Fight."

With that she was gone and alarms were going off until suddenly Maxie was awake again. 

Nurse "Doctor she's awake."

Doctor "Miss Jones can you tell me where you are?"

Maxie "I'm in the hospital."

Doctor "Can you tell me your name?"

Maxie "Mariah Maximiliana Jones."

Doctor "Okay good.  You were out of it for a while but you're back and seem perfectly fine."

Maxie "My baby?  Is my baby okay?"

Doctor "Your baby is just fine Miss Jones."

Maxie "What about Nathan?"

Doctor "He's still comatose.  I'm sorry I can't tell you more."

Two hours later Maxie got an update that he was still comatose but losing brain function. 

The doctors didn't think he would pull through but Maxie prayed "Dear god I don't do this often but please don't let Nathan die.  I love him and this baby."

She called Jordin "Commissioner Ashford?"

Jordin "Yes Maxie.  What is going on I can't reach detective west."

Maxie "He's in a coma.  The bullet did more damage than they thought."

Jordin "Oh my god.  I will let Dante know.  Thank you for updating me."

Maxie "Bye."

Jordin "Detective Falconeri I need to speak to you."

Dante "Yes commissioner."

Jordin "Your partner is still in Portland.  He was shot near the heart and the bullet is removed but caused damage and he's comatose."

Dante "How long?"

Jordin "I don't know.  Maxie is keeping me updated.  For now I'm temporarily assigning you to a different partner."

Dante "Alright if you think I need one."
