As Long As I'm Here // Billie Eilish

Hotel

Shark and Ruby is in the backseat and I sit in the passenger seat as Billie drives us from Hagaparken to her hotel. It's only a 15 minute drive but we chit-chat nonstop. When we get there Billie parks her matte black car in a garage and we head up to her hotel room with the dogs.

"Wow, this is really nice! How long are you staying here?" I say as I sit down on the big sofa.

"Just a couple of days, then I have to get going" She says and sits down beside me.

"Are you hungry angel?"

God, I love it when she calls me that.

"Yeah, a little bit"

"What about we order something up to the hotel room and just chill here for a while?"

"Sounds great to me!"

"Sooo, what would you like to eat?"

"Ooh, I don't know. I'm cool with whatever you want. As long as it's vegan"

"What about pizza?"

"I love pizza!"

"Okay, what do you want on your pizza? I think I'm going for mushrooms and olives"

"I want bananas and curry on mine"

"What did you just say?? Bananas??? On pizza???? AND curry?!?!" Billie says looking at me in disbelief.

"Yes, it's my favorite. It's actually a really common pizza here in Sweden. You should try it, it's delicious!"

"Girl, bananas are for fruit sallads and curry are for stews. But as long as it keeps you happy strange girl.." she says and side eyes me as we both laugh.

The food comes in and we decide to eat on the couch. I look around at the hotel room, I've never been in such a luxury hotel room before. The only hotels I've slept in just had a bed, bathroom and maybe a small table with a chair if I was lucky. This is like a house, with several different rooms and a really big bed. Billies stuff is all over the place. There are plenty of shoes on the table, bags on the floor with clothes hanging out of them and a whole bunch of ripped out notebook pages around the bed. I really don't care, I think it's cute that she doesn't feel the urge to have a perfectly tidied room. Because for real, who has that?

"Does your strange Swedish pizza taste good?" She says with her mouth stuffed.

"Delicious! Does your boring ordernary pizza taste good?"

"Hell yeah, god I was so hungry"

Billies phone buzz and she picks it up to answer a text.

"Finneas is on his way back to the hotel, he was with mom and dad exploring the city today. He will be here in about 20 minutes"

"Okay, cool. Should we just sit here and chill until then?"

"That was one of your best ideas today Tuva" She says smiling at me as she leans back on the couch.

She taps next to her on the couch, inviting me to sit beside her and takes up her phone.

"Come here, I'mma show you something"

I sit beside her as she shows me her phone, it's a video of Shark when he was a puppy and Billie just rescued him. When the video ends we look at each other. She smiles and a light blush appear over her cheeks. She's so close to me right now, god she's beautiful. I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. She leans forward towards my face and I close my eyes as I do the same.

*Knocks on the door*

We both jumped at the sound of Finneas knocking on the door and quickly pull apart.

"Billie I saw like the craziest-" He stops himself mid sentence and just stare for a second.

"Hi Fin, uhm, this is my, uhm, new friend Tuva"

I look at him and wave awkwardly as Shark and Ruby runs to greet him.

"Oh, and this is Tuva's dog, Ruby" Billie says.

"Uhm, hi Tuva. And Ruby" He says sounding just as surprised as he looks.

"I, I didn't know you had a friend over. Sorry for acting so weird. I just got surprised"

"Hi, yeah sorry for not introducing myself, I'm Tuva" I say and smile at him.

Finneas walks over to the couch and sits down with us.

"So, how do you guys know each other? We haven't met before right Tuva? Or am I being a total asshole now for not remembering you?"

"Tuva and I met a couple of days before so you're good Finch" Billie reassures him and giggle.

"Phew, okay, good. Then I'm not getting delusional"

"Nope, you're perfectly good" I also reassure him.

"So what have you guys been up to today?" Finneas asks looking at us.

"We took a walk with the dogs in this beautiful park called... What's it called again Tuva?"

"Hagaparken"

"Yeah, right, Hagaparken!" She says pronouncing it totally wrong.

"And then we got here and ordered pizza"

"Sounds like you had a good day! I also need to eat something, I'm starving. Is there any pizza left? Finneas asks.

"Hahahah depending if you like strange Swedish pizza with fruit and curry on it, Tuva has a couple of slices over" Billie laughs looking at him and then at me.

"It's not strange, it's good! You haven't even tried it yet so you shouldn't say anything!" I quickly reply.

"Is that bananas on the pizza?? Uhm, I think I'm good for now" Finneas says and looks at me disgusted.

We both bursts out laughing at his disgusted look when he saw the pizza.

"Okay I'm heading back to my hotel room now, I really need to eat something. It was nice meeting you Tuva!" He says and walks out the door.

As he shuts the door behind him I feel my cheeks start to heat up from the semi-awkward situation that just took place. I lower my head and starts to fidget with the bracelet on my left hand for a second before looking back up again at Billie. I smile nervous at her and she giggles as she puts a strand of hair behind my ear.
