4 days later.

Billie and I are at the stable today, we have rented two horses and are going for a trail ride together. I grew up with horses and so did Billie, she used to work at this stable when she was younger and got riding lessons in exchange. She have explained to me before that spending time with horses is pretty much the only time she feels at peace. And as I also grew up with horses, I really get what she means.
We put on the saddles and the bridles on our horses before we walk them outside to mount them. The horse that Billie rented is a dapple gray mare and the horse I rented is a chestnut gelding.

We start our trail ride by walking through a little park. We have rented these horses before so we already know them a little. We trot down the forest road and we can hear the birds in the trees above us.

"Wow, I've missed this" I say to Billie as I trot up beside her.

"Me too" she tells me.

We slow down to walk again and turn to the left and ends up at a big open field. Perfect for galloping.

"Wanna gallop?" Billie asks me.

"You don't have to ask me twice" I say and start collecting my reins again.

"Okay, we'll start slow and speed up eventually. Shout if you need to slow down or stop" I tell her before I start galloping.

She gallops behind me and I look back at her once in a while to check. The cold wind blows in our hair as we stand up the stirrups and increases the speed.

"I love this!!" Billie yells behind me.

"Me too!!" I turn my head and tell back.

"Okay, I'm slowing down now" I say and slow down to trot and eventually walk.

"Good work!" We both coo as we let go of the reins and pets our horses.

One hour later.

"Thank you, good work today mamas" Billie tells the horse as she gives her a kiss.

We release the horses in to the paddock and head back to the car.

"God, I miss having horses" I tell Billie in the car.

"Yeah, I can understand that. I've never owned one but what a dream"

"Some day I will buy a horse again, when I'm rich" I tell Billie and we laugh.

"Do you want to stop at the cafe on our way back home to eat something?" She asks me.

"Yeah sure!"

We pull up at the cafe and step inside hand in hand.

"Hi, what would you like today?" The person behind the desk asks us

"Um, I'll have a coffee and a chocolate croissant" I tell the cashier and looks over to Billie.

"I'll have orange juice and a gluten free peanut butter cookie" Billie says.

When we have gotten our food we sit down at a table inside. It's near a window so we have a good view over the busy street.

"I still find it super cute that you don't drink coffee" I say and giggles at her orange juice.
